Itinerary

Day 1 - Depart USA Overnight flight to London.
Day 2 - Arrive London (6 nights) You are met at the airport and transferred to your London hotel. This is a great time of year to be in the British capital! Department stores such as Harrods and Selfridges are festively decorated. Oxford Street, Bond Street and Knightsbridge are sparkling with Christmas illuminations! Hot chestnuts are sold in the streets and Christmas carols are sung by choirs in places like Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square. You will soon be in the festive spirit as you check into your hotel. Free time this afternoon to ''drink in'' the great atmosphere!

Day 3 - London sightseeing An included sightseeing tour shows you all the highlights of the city – the majesty of Westminster Abbey, the tribute to Lord Nelson in Trafalgar Square and of course we say ''hello'' to the Queen as we stop to take pictures of Buckingham Palace. In the evening, why not book into a carol concert at the Royal Festival or Albert Hall? Our London Reception Centre can arrange all sorts of activities for you! (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4 - London at leisure Time to perhaps do some shopping in the Christmas markets in Covent Garden or to window-shop in pretty Walton Street or St. Christopher''s Place. Alternatively you can visit one of London''s great museums…they are relatively crowd free at this time of year – but still full of special exhibitions, which would be a shame to miss! Day 5 - Excursion to Stratford-upon-Avon There’s a Dickensian feel about the town of Shakespeare’s birth with its half-timbered houses and thatched cottages. We will visit the old house where Shakespeare was born, and see Anne Hathaway’s cottage. Then a drive through the pretty area, which is known as the Cotswolds with its rolling hills, old stone houses and charming villages, brings us back to London. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 6 - Excursion to Bath & Stonehenge And now Christmas - Jane Austen style! We drive to nearby Bath where we visit the Abbey and Roman Baths – it''s also a great place to browse in the charming small shops and boutiques in the Georgian streets. We return to London via mysterious Stonehenge – the stone circle on Salisbury plain. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 7 - London at leisure Time to do some last minute shopping, go to the theatre or take an excursion to the Tower of London. Maybe attend a Christmas service in Westminster Abbey – an experience never to be forgotten! (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 1 - Depart USA Overnight flight to Paris.
Day 2 - Arrive Paris (7 nights) Greetings from Trafalgar as you arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. You are transferred to your hotel for a week in France’s elegant capital! There is so much to see and do – particularly at this time of year when a festive atmosphere is in the air!
Day 3 - Paris Sightseeing First of all we include a guided sightseeing tour, which takes in all the main highlights including the Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysées, Place de l''Opera, views of Notre Dame and of course the Eiffel Tower. We will see the Boulevard Haussman where the big stores such as Galeries Lafayette – for which you will have discount vouchers – have their windows specially dressed for children at Christmas. Why not buy some chestnuts ''roasting in an open fire'' from a Parisian street vendor before enjoying an included cruise along the river Seine – the perfect way to appreciate the flying buttresses of Notre Dame Cathedral. Then we will visit the Fragonard Perfume Factory where you will be able to purchase all manner of Christmas gifts such as festive scented candles. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4 - Paris – Paris at leisure A day at leisure to do as you please. Paris at this time of year is less crowded, so make the most of the lack of people to get into the Louvre or see the Impressionist paintings in the Musée d''Orsay? (BB)
Day 5 Paris – Excursion to Versailles Today we will enjoy an included guided visit to the Palace of Versailles, just outside the French capital – the opulent home of the French kings – with its spectacular ornamental gardens. (Buffet Breakfast)

Days 6, 7 & 8 - Paris at leisure Plenty of time for shopping, sightseeing or simply strolling in the Luxembourg gardens or the elegant Parc Monceau. Paris at night is unique – but especially so at this time of year, when the Champs Elysées is aglow with Christmas lights and the Avenue Montaigne with its designer shops is decorated with such panache! And don''t forget to see the Eiffel Tower – gloriously illuminated with special Christmas lights! You may also wish to take in a cabaret show – after all cabaret is what Paris is famous for.

Day 4 - Munich – Nuremberg (2 nights) Off to Augsburg, stopping to see the Renaissance 17th century town hall, in front of which is the Christmas market. Then along the Romantic Road to Rothenburg with time to admire its houses and Christmas shops and market. On to Nuremberg. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 5 - Nuremberg orientation and Christmas market This town provides a fairy-tale backdrop to Germany''s most fascinating Christmas market. Day 6 - Nuremberg – Strasbourg (2 nights) We drive up to Heidelberg Castle to visit its courtyard and ancient cellars and see the Great Vat! Day 7 - Strasbourg sightseeing and Christmas market Today''s guided sightseeing features the Cathedral, the merchants'' houses, Place Gutenberg, and the picturesque quarter of ''La Petite France''. We also enjoy a glass-roofed boat cruise (weather permitting) through its many charming canals. Later, at leisure why not take an excursion to a typical Alsatian wine-village? (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 8 - Strasbourg – Munich Back into Germany and via the university town of Freiburg on the River Dreisam at the gates of the Black Forest. We enjoy a scenic drive past half-timbered houses, large farms, fields of cherry trees and conifer-covered hills and mountains to Lake Titisee. Then we follow the Rhine to Germany''s largest lake, Lake Constance. We drive along the pretty lake to Lindau - the most important town on its Bavarian shores - located on an island in the lake linked to the mainland by a bridge. Day 3 - Vienna sightseeing and Christmas markets Our sightseeing tour with a local guide includes a drive along the Ringstrasse, views of the Hofburg, the Parliament, City Hall and the State Opera House. Vienna’s ‘Christkindlmarkt’ in traditional wooden huts displays handmade wooden toys, local gingerbread and warming ‘Glühwein’. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4 - Vienna – Salzburg – Innsbruck A scenic drive along the Danube Valley brings us to Mozart’s Salzburg, where the Christmas markets are held in and around the picturesque Cathedral. Our guided walking tour shows us Mozart’s birthplace and the Mirabell Gardens. Then we drive through fairy-tale Christmas landscapes to Innsbruck, where, after an orientation tour, we have time to enjoy the Christmas Market in the

Day 5 - Innsbruck – Neuschwanstein Castle – Oberammergau – Munich (2 nights) This morning, with views of snowcapped mountains, we drive to visit Neuschwanstein, the most extravagant of King Ludwig’s castles. Then to Oberammergau, famous for its Passion Play, and on to the Bavarian capital of Munich, with its festive Christmas markets. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 6 - Munich orientation and at leisure Our orientation shows us the Hofbräuhaus, the Marienplatz and the ornate Glockenspiel on the impressive town hall. Then time at leisure to browse the stalls at the Christmas market and maybe visit one of the famous Beer halls of this hospitable city. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 7 - Munich – Lake Constance – Zurich Christmas Market – Lucerne ( 2 nights) We head for the Swiss border, passing Lake Constance, before reaching Zurich, the financial capital. Time to visit the lively indoor Christmas market before continuing on to lakeside Lucerne where we spend the next two nights. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 8 - Lucerne orientation and at leisure This morning our Tour Director shows us the poignant Lion Monument, the covered wooden Chapel Bridge and the Jesuit Church, before time to shop for Swiss watches and chocolate.
