  • Day 1 - Arrive Boston Welcome to Boston! A complimentary transfer is provided to the Trafalgar hotel. Your Tour Director is at the hotel this afternoon to greet you and answer your questions. Join us at 6:00pm for a Welcome Reception at the hotel.

  • Day 2 - Boston – Fredericton We travel briefly along the New England coast through New Hampshire before heading inland through the woods of Maine. We cross the border into New Brunswick, Canada, and arrive in Fredericton, the provincial capital. Tonight enjoy the sights, tastes and sounds of Kings Landing Historic Settlement followed by dinner with live music. (Full Breakfast / Highlight Dinner)

  • Day 3 - Fredericton – Halifax (2 nights) Explore charming Fredericton, settled by British Loyalists fleeing the American Revolution in 1783.Our tour includes views of the University of New Brunswick, one of Canada''s oldest universities, the beautiful Legislative Assembly building and old Christ Church Cathedral. Later we skirt the shores of the Bay of Fundy, stopping at Fort Beausejour National Historic Site for a visit to this 18th century military outpost, important in the early colonial struggles of the region. This evening we arrive in dynamic Halifax, capital of Nova Scotia, for a two-night stay. (Full breakfast)

  • Day 4 - Halifax sightseeing & at leisure Today we explore the sights of this historic city, including a visit to the Citadel National Historic Site, and learn about the link between Halifax and the sinking of the Titanic. Perhaps join us on an optional excursion to picturesque Peggy''s Cove,one of themost scenic fishing villages in the Maritimes, with wonderful views of the rocky shoreline and its famous red and white lighthouse.   • Day 5 - Halifax – Sherbrooke Village – Baddeck (2 nights) Heading north,we stop at the Fisherman''s Life Museum where we learn about the life of a coastal family in the early 1900''s. On to historic Sherbrooke Village for a visit to this living museum depicting a late 19th century mining and lumber village. Later we cross the Canso Causeway to Cape Breton Island. Traveling along the shores of picturesque Bras d''Or Lake,we arrive in the quaint village of Baddeck, our home for the next two nights. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)

  • Day 6 - Cape Breton Highlands National Park & Cabot Trail excursion We start the day with a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site where many of the great inventor''s personal artifacts and mementos are on display. Later we follow the splendid Cabot Trail, one of the world''s greatest scenic drives.Mile after stunning mile, this amazing coastline with jagged peaks
    rising out of the sea provides plenty of photo opportunities.We then continue along the trail to Cape Breton Highlands National Park, home to deep-walled canyons, sandy beaches and majestic cliffs. We return to Baddeck in the late afternoon. (Full Breakfast) 
     
  • Day 7 - Baddeck – Wood Islands Ferry – Charlottetown (2 nights) Today our Tour Director will reveal a Hidden Treasure to us! We re-cross the Canso Strait and travel through Antigonish to the quaint fishing town of Pictou, one of the finest natural harbors in Canada.We cross the Northumberland Strait by ferry to Prince Edward Island. We then journey through the scenic Prince Edward Island countryside to charming Charlottetown. (Full Breakfast)

  • Day 8 - Prince Edward Island sightseeing & at leisure We start the day with a locally-guided sightseeing tour of Prince Edward Island. We drive up to the north shore to visit Prince Edward Island National Park, an area of red sandstone cliffs, offshore sand bars, submerged estuaries, and some of Canada''s longest and most popular beaches. In Cavendish we visit Green Gables, the lovely wooden farmhouse which inspired the setting for Lucy Maud Montgomery''s Anne of Green Gables. This evening why not attend an optional performance of the popular musical Anne of Green Gables? (Full Breakfast)
     
  • Day 9 - Charlottetown – Shediac Bay – Moncton We travel across the Confederation Bridge, the world''s longest bridge over icecovered water, back to New Brunswick. At Shediac Bay, we join a lobstering cruise including a delicious lobster lunch served on board. We then head for Ste-Anne-de-Kent, where we visit the Olivier Soapery and learn about the traditional craft of soap-making in the early 19th century. We overnight in Moncton, a city known for its French and English heritage. (Full Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

  • Day 10 - Moncton – Hopewell Rocks – Saint John This morning we drive along the scenic Bay of Fundy to see the Hopewell Rocks. We join a local guide and learn about these unusual flowerpot-shaped islands carved by the world''s highest tides. We then travel from Moncton to historic Saint John,where we view the amazing Reversing Falls on the Saint John River,
    a unique phenomenon caused by the tremendous tide in the Bay of Fundy. A short city orientation tour includes a stop at the Old City Market before arriving at our hotel. (Full Breakfast)

  • Day 11 - St. John – Acadia National Park – Bar Harbor We travel south and cross the border back into the US and the state of Maine.
    We arrive at the seaside village of Bar Harbor, home to the sumptuous mansions of America''s wealthiest families who come to spend summer along the shores of Frenchman''s Bay. This afternoon our Tour Director will reveal a Hidden Treasure before we visit nearby Acadia National Park, the only national park in the New England states. Our tour takes us along the rugged coastline, past golden beaches to the top of Cadillac Mountain for panoramic views. Tonight we toast to our newfound friends and Maritime adventure at our Farewell Dinner. (Full Breakfast / Farwell Dinner)

  • Day 2 - Niagara Falls excursion We travel around Lake Ontario to the magnificent sight of Niagara Falls. There is plenty of time to take it all in from the lovely park-like setting of the Canadian side. Then we see the falls up close aboard the unforgettable Maid of the Mist cruise. Following the dramatic cataract along the scenic Niagara Peninsula, we visit the historic village of Niagara-on-the-Lake, the colonial capital of Upper Canada. This evening join your fellow traveling companions for dinner at the hotel. (Full Breakfast/ Dinner)
     
  • Day 3 - Toronto – Kingston We start the day with an orientation tour of Toronto, viewing Queens Park, the busy entertainment district, stately University Avenue and the CN Tower. Heading north, we follow the shores of Lake Ontario through the Ontario countryside to the historic town of Kingston. Here, we visit Old Fort Henry, a 19th century British military fortress, and learn about British garrison life during the year of Canada''s confederation. This evening is at leisure; perhaps enjoy a picturesque dinner cruise through the spectacular 1000 Islands region. (Full Breakfast)

  • Day 4 - Kingston – Upper Canada Village – Montreal We visit Upper Canada Village, a recreated 1860''s rural community where citizens take us back in time. We then travel to Montreal, the cultural capital of French Canada and the largest French-speaking city outside France. Here our local guide introduces us to the historic sites of Old Montreal including spectacular Notre Dame de Montreal, the historic Old Port, and the modern contrasts of bustling downtown. We also stop at Mount Royal for lovely views over the city. During our city tour, our Tour Director will reveal a special Hidden Treasure to us! (Full Breakfast)

  • Day 5 - Montreal – Charlevoix region (2 nights) Leaving the city behind, we travel northeast along the St. Lawrence River for a two-night stay at the magnificent Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu, majestically situated between the mountains and the sea in the heart of the Charlevoix region. Rich in tradition and history, this beautiful resort offers the charms of the countryside while maintaining the sophistication of a world-class establishment. This evening, we enjoy dinner in one of the resort’s fine restaurants. After dinner, perhaps try your luck at the resort’s cozy Casino de Charlevoix. (Full Breakfast/ Dinner)

  • Day 6 - Charlevoix region at leisure Enjoy a full day at leisure to pursue your own interests. Experience the area’s exceptional natural sights and unique attractions. Perhaps explore the many local workshops, boutiques, studios and art galleries, go whale watching through one of the world’s most scenic marine mammal observation areas, or simply relax at the resort, play golf or tennis, take a dip in the indoor or outdoor all-season pools, or treat yourself at the spa.   • Day 7- Charlevoix region – Baie-St-Paul – Quebec City (2 nights) Our first stop today is at the picturesque village of Baie-St-Paul, where there is time to stroll the streets lined with beautiful ancestral homes, boutiques and art galleries. Next we visit the Basilica of Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre, one of the most visited shrines in North America. We then stop at the beautiful Montmorency Falls, which at 275ft are nearly 100 feet taller than those at Niagara, before entering Quebec City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded as a trading post at a narrowing of the St. Lawrence River, the walled city quickly grew on the cliffs overlooking the river. With French as the primary language, old-world Quebec City offers a truly unique experience. (Full Breakfast/ Dinner)

  • Day 8 - Quebec City sightseeing & at leisure We start the day with a morning guided tour of Quebec City, including the narrow streets of the Old Town and the Plains of Abraham, site of a major colonial battle between the British and French.   • Day 9 - Quebec City – Ottawa We travel back into Ontario to Ottawa, Canada''s beautiful capital city. On arrival, we are taken on an orientation tour of the city, viewing the stately buildings of Parliament Hill, Rideau Hall, the residence of the Governor General of Canada, the beautiful downtown parks and Rideau Canal, filled with millions of tulips in May.   • Day 2 - New York – Washington DC (2 nights) We start the day with an orientation tour of New York City, viewing Battery Park, Times Square, the mighty Empire State Building and beautiful Central Park. Leaving the city, we travel south to Washington DC, the nation’s capital. This evening we enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. (Full Breakfast / Highlight Dinner)

  • Day 3 - Washington DC sightseeing & at leisure We are joined by a local guide who takes us on a sightseeing tour, viewing the Capitol, the White House and many of the capital’s landmark monuments and memorials. Stops are made at the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials and the WWII and Vietnam Veterans Memorials. We then cross the Potomac to Arlington National Cemetery, the final resting place of more than 300,000 people and site of the Tomb of the Unknowns and the Eternal Flame of the Kennedy grave. Here, we learn about the history and traditions of Arlington on board the narrated Tourmobile. The afternoon is at leisure; perhaps visit one of the museums of the Smithsonian Institution or take a leisurely stroll and view the monuments up close. (Full Brekafast)

     
  • Day 4 - Washington DC – Philadelphia We journey on to Baltimore, Maryland, and visit the bustling Inner Harbor. Next we arrive at the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. At Independence National Historical Park, we visit the award-winning National Constitution Center, the Liberty Bell Center, home to the Liberty Bell, and we view Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. Tonight, why not follow us back to the 18th century with our optional dinner at the historic City Tavern, followed by a stroll through Old Town? (Full Breakfast)

  • Day 5 - Philadelphia – Lancaster County/Amish Country We head to the lands of the Amish and Mennonites and explore parts of Lancaster County where handmade crafts testify to their old-fashioned values. We pass some of the most productive farms in America, growing crops the same way they did two hundred years ago. We visit an Amish farm for a glimpse into a different way of life.   • Day 6 - Lancaster County – Niagara Falls Today we''re off to Niagara Falls to experience this natural wonder. These famous waterfalls thunder and roar, forming one of the most photographed natural wonders of the world.   • Day 7 - Niagara Falls – Toronto (2 nights) Our highlight today is a cruise aboard the Maid of the Mist, which takes us through the churning waters past the American and Bridal Veil Falls and into the dense mist of spray inside the curve of the Horseshoe Falls. Later we travel across the Niagara Peninsula and stop at picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake before continuing on to Toronto on the shores of Lake Ontario, one of the five great lakes.   • Day 3 - Washington DC – Mount Vernon – Yorktown – Colonial Williamsburg (2 nights) Today we visit the home of George Washington, Mount Vernon, which overlooks the Potomac River. Step back into the 18th century as you stroll along the Duke of Gloucester Street where the townspeople, adorned in period costume, go about their daily lives in faithfully restored shops, taverns and homes.   • Day 5 - Williamsburg – Monticello – Shenandoah National Park We travel to Richmond, once the capital of the Confederacy. We see the State Capitol and the famous St. John''s Church where Patrick Henry cried out the phrase "Give me liberty or give me death." From here we continue into the rolling hills of Virginia''s countryside to Monticello, the beautiful home of President Thomas Jefferson. This afternoon we drive into the Blue Ridge Mountains, following the scenic Skyline Drive of Shenandoah National Park. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
