Airport Transfers

London Gateways: Transfers can be expensive, particularly between the Airport and central London. When you book your tour with Trafalgar your transfers to and from the airport are included. It''s that simple. Trafalgar has included a Free transfer to and from your airport and Central London.
Important – Please Note: Passengers will only be entitled to transfers to and from London Airports providing the following conditions are met:
You are staying at a London hotel, booked by Trafalgar, on the night of your arrival and the night prior to the date of your departure.
Flights are either booked by Trafalgar or detailed information on flights is provided by your Travel Agent not less than 21 days prior to departure.
Only one included transfer both inbound and outbound per tour is included by Trafalgar. Transfers are by express train to a Central London Rail Station.
Heathrow Airport: Inbound transfers operate between 06.00-21.30. Outbound transfers are timed to connect with scheduled flights departing between 08.00-23.00. Transfers will be by coach. Gatwick Airport: Inbound transfers operate between 06.00-12.30. Outbound transfers are timed to connect with scheduled flights departing between 08.00-23.00. Transfers will be by express train and coach. Transfers outside these times will be at the passengers own expense.

Itinerary

Day 1- Depart USA Overnight flight to London.
Day 2- Arrive London (2 nights) After checking into your Trafalgar hotel, the rest of the day is free to explore this exciting capital city.

Hotel: Copthorne & Millennium at Chelsea (2 nights)
Day 3 - London sightseeing & at leisure There are many major sights included on today''s morning sightseeing tour. Then, the rest of the day is free to explore or maybe shop at the world’s most famous store, Harrod’s. In the evening London theatre beckons! (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4 - London – Stratford – Coventry – York – Darlington Greetings from our Tour Director as we make our way through the Chiltern Hills to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare. We continue to Coventry and see the ruins of the Cathedral, destroyed during World War II and the new cathedral. Then to York where our Tour Director takes us on a fascinating walking tour including the city walls, the ‘Shambles’ and a Hidden Treasure! Finally we will have the chance to visit the beautiful Minster. We continue to our hotel for a Welcome Drink and dinner. (Continetal Breakfast / Dinner)

Hotel: Blackwell Grange
Day 5 - Darlington – Hadrian’s Wall – Edinburgh After breakfast we travel north to see Hadrian’s Wall. Then, through the Northumberland National Park and the ruins of Jedburgh Abbey before continuing to Edinburgh. On arrival, sightseeing with a local guide shows us Princes Street with its elegant shops, dominated by the imposing Castle,
the Royal Mile, views of Holyrood House and the Devil’s seat. Then we visit the ‘new town’ with its beautiful Georgian architecture, see the new Scottish Parliament buildings and enjoy a guided visit of the apartments inside Edinburgh Castle. (Full Breakfast)

Hotel: Holiday Inn North
Day 6 - Edinburgh – Lake District – Chester Area (Runcorn) First stop is Gretna Green, where traditionally, young couples would elope against their parents’ wishes in a ceremony performed across the blacksmith’s anvil. We cross into England and drive through the English Lake District to Grasmere, birthplace of the poet, William Wordsworth. Then along the shores of Lake Windermere, through scenery reminiscent of Wordsworth’s magical poetry, to Liverpool, where our orientation tour takes in the refurbished docks, the Liver building and both Cathedrals. Tonight, we’ll enjoy a Farewell Dinner in our hotel. (Full Breakfast / Farewell Dinner)

Hotel: Holiday Inn (Runcorn)
Day 7- Chester Area (Runcorn) – Wedgwood – London First stop, medieval Chester, where our walking tour will show us the famous ‘Rows’ and the Cathedral. Next, our journey takes us into Staffordshire to visit the Wedgwood Pottery Centre. Time to pick up some bargains in fine china before returning to London. (Full Breakfast)

Hotel: Millenium at Chelsea
Day 8 - London – USA After breakfast, time to bid farewell to new-found friends and Britain on your return flight to America. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 2 - Arrive London After checking into your hotel, the rest of the day is free to explore this great city.

Hotel: Riverbank Park Plaza
Day 3 - London – Runnymede – Stonehenge – Salisbury – Plymouth We set off for a drive through Runnymede, where the Magna Carta was sealed. We will see Windsor Castle as we continue via Salisbury Plain to Stonehenge. Next we view magnificent Salisbury Cathedral, with the tallest spire in Britain. Then we drive through Thomas Hardy country to Plymouth, the port of departure for the Pilgrim Fathers. Here we will enjoy a Welcome Drink and dinner with our Tour Director and fellow travelling companions. (Continental Breakfast / Dinner)

Hotel: Jurys Inn
Day 4 - Plymouth – Bath – Bristol Today''s journey skirts Dartmoor National Park and takes us to Glastonbury where we visit the Abbey ruins. Then to historic Bath where an orientation tour includes a visit to the Roman Baths. We continue to our overnight hotel in Bristol. (Full Breakfast)

Hotel: Marriott City Centre
Day 5 - Bristol – Stow-on-the-Wold – Stratford – Wedgwood – Chester area (Runcorn) A scenic drive through the Cotswolds to Stow-on-the-Wold. We continue to Stratford-upon-Avon, to visit Shakespeare’s birthplace and view Ann Hathaway’s cottage. Then we visit the Wedgwood Pottery Centre before arriving in Chester, where our Tour Director shows us the city walls, Tudor ‘Rows’ and a Hidden?Treasure! Finally to our hotel. (Full Breakfast)

Day 6 - Chester area (Runcorn) – Lake District – York We drive to the English Lake District. Then across the Yorkshire Dales to York and a walking tour to visit the ‘Shambles’, see the Mansion House, Stonegate and Petergate, and of course the magnificent Minster. Later we enjoy a Farewell Dinner together. (Full Breakfast / Farewell Dinner)

Hotel: Holiday Inn
Day 7 - York – Sherwood Forest – London (2 nights) This morning we pass by the area of Sherwood Forest, associated with the legendary hero, Robin Hood. Then on to Cambridge where we will see the magnificent architecture of Kings College Cathedral. We are back in London by the early evening. (Full Breakfast)

Airport Transfers

London Gateways: Transfers can be expensive, particularly between the Airport and central London. When you book your tour with Trafalgar your transfers to and from the airport are included. It''s that simple. Trafalgar has included a Free transfer to and from your airport and Central London.
Important – Please Note: Passengers will only be entitled to transfers to and from London Airports providing the following conditions are met:
You are staying at a London hotel, booked by Trafalgar, on the night of your arrival and the night prior to the date of your departure.
Flights are either booked by Trafalgar or detailed information on flights is provided by your Travel Agent not less than 21 days prior to departure.
Only one included transfer both inbound and outbound per tour is included by Trafalgar. Transfers are by express train to a Central London Rail Station.
Heathrow Airport: Inbound transfers operate between 06.00-21.30. Outbound transfers are timed to connect with scheduled flights departing between 08.00-23.00. Transfers will be by coach. Gatwick Airport: Inbound transfers operate between 06.00-12.30. Outbound transfers are timed to connect with scheduled flights departing between 08.00-23.00. Transfers will be by express train and coach. Transfers outside these times will be at the passengers own expense.
In the event of unforeseen events (road or rail works, demonstrations, strikes) Trafalgar will not be held responsible for delayed or cancelled transfers.
No refund is available for passengers not utilising this service.

European Gateways: With Trafalgar all passengers will receive complimentary arrival and departure transfers on the scheduled arrival and departure day of their tour at the times specified below. Please ensure your Travel Agent reserves your flight to co-ordinate with the transfer times shown.
Trafalgar Bonus - Passengers who book Trafalgar''s Land+Air package and who arrive or depart outside of these specified times on the scheduled arrival and departure day of the tour will also be provided with a transfer.
Passengers arriving before or leaving after the scheduled tour days are not entitled to a transfer but may book and purchase one through Trafalgar providing that they also purchase the additional pre and/or post tour hotel night(s) from Trafalgar. Itinerary

Day 1- Depart USA Overnight flight to London.
Day 2 - Arrive London Day at leisure to explore Britain''s capital.

Hotel: Park Plaza County Hall
Day 3 - London – Runnymede – Salisbury – Stonehenge – Bideford This morning we drive through Windsor Great Park, and maybe catch a glimpse of Windsor Castle en route to Runnymede where the Magna Carta was sealed. We continue to Salisbury to view its magnificent Cathedral, boasting the tallest church spire in Britain! From one astounding visit to the next as we stop at Salisbury Plain to visit the ancient and mysterious monoliths of Stonehenge. Finally a drive past Lorna Doone’s famous Exmoor marks our arrival in the West Country where we head to the ancient seaport of Bideford, built on two hills above the river Torridge. Tonight we will enjoy a Welcome Drink and Highlight restaurant dinner with our Tour Director and travelling companions. (Continental Breakfast / Highlight Dinner)

Hotel: Durrant House
Day 4 - Bideford – Clovelly – Tintagel – Plymouth (2 nights) Our first stop this morning will be the steeply cobbled village of Clovelly with its loveable donkeys and Dartmoor heather. Then via the pretty seaside resort of Boscastle and back into Devon, where we will enjoy a wonderful Devonshire Cream tea this afternoon. Finally we stop in Tintagel, for views of the ruined castle overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. From here we make our way to the historic naval port of Plymouth. Here we see the Mayflower steps from which the Pilgrim Fathers set sail to America and the Citadel overlooking Plymouth Sound. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)

Hotel: Jurys Inn (2 nights)
Day 5 - Cornish Excursion We drive along the rugged Cornish coastline past smugglers’ coves and quaint fishing villages to Land’s End the most westerly point of the British mainland. Then to St Ives, the famous artists’ colony, and later views of St Michael’s Mount near Penzance before a drive across Bodmin Moor. During the day our
Tour Director will also show us a Hidden Treasure before we return to our hotel. (Full Breakfast)
Day 6 - Plymouth – Bath – Bristol We travel through the rugged Datmoor National Park to Glastonbury where we visit the Abbey ruins and see the legendary tomb of King Arthur. Then we see the mineral beauty of Cheddar Gorge before continuing to the city of Bath where we visit the Roman Baths and see the magnificent Georgian architecture. We overnight in maritime Bristol where we enjoy a Farewell Dinner tonight. (Full Breakfast / Farewell Dinner)

Hotel: Marriott City Centre
Day 7 - Bristol – Avebury – Hampton Court – London We leave the city of Isambard Kingdom Brunel and drive to see Britain’s largest and most ancient Stone Circle, Avebury. On our way back into London we will stop to see the gardens of Hampton Court Palace. Say goodbye to your Tour Director and newly made friends as you are taken to your Trafalgar London hotel. (Full Breakfast)

Day 8 - London – USA We transfer to the airport for our return flight to America. (Buffet Breakfast)
