We have an Aboriginal guide with us and with the special permission of the local people, we will be able to go ashore in Arnhem Land. Visit the Bowali Visitor Centre.   • Day 4 - Litchfield National Park – Darwin Leaving Darwin, we follow the Stuart Highway via Batchelor to Litchfield National Park. Visiting the main falls of the Park, you have the opportunity for scenic and interpretive bush and monsoon vine forest walks. View Florence Falls from a high vantage point before making your way down the stairs to the plunge pool below with an opportunity to swim. We visit Tolmer Falls with views of the water cascading down to the deep waterhole below. We head to Wangi Falls for another chance to swim in the large crystal clear pool and an optional steady climb through the rainforest to the top of the falls. During the day we stop for a picnic lunch. A great day also for taking many interesting photos, including the amazing stand of Termite Mounds. (Lunch)

This will be followed by a visit to the renowned Desert Park, where your guide will take you through the Nocturnal House. You will also enjoy a demonstration at the Nature Theatre as well as having some free time to explore the Park at leisure. (Buffet Breakfast)
     
  • DAY 10 West MacDonnell Ranges & Gorges This morning after breakfast, our day begins with a tour of the West MacDonnell Ranges. We’ll stop at Simpsons Gap with its lovely red river gum scenery. Continue on to magical Angkerle (Standley Chasm).We’ll walk into the Chasm along the stony watercourse lined with cycads, ghost gums, acacias and cypress pines. Then we will travel to Ellery Creek Big Hole before arriving at Ormiston Gorge. We travel on to Glen Helen Gorge, a semi permanent waterhole, for lunch. Depending on the time of year, a swim may be possible at one of the waterholes. Nearby is Mt Sonder, which was the subject of many paintings by the famed Aboriginal artist, Albert Namatjira. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch)
     
  • Day 11 - Alice Springs - Ayers Rock Travel through the ‘Red Centre’ from Alice Springs to Ayers Rock Resort, stopping en route at a camel farm. Later we visit the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). On arrival at the base of Walpa Gorge we spend some time exploring the area and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. In the late afternoon we travel to the Ayers Rock sunset viewing area. Witness and photograph the striking color changes of Ayers Rock while enjoying a glass of wine. (Buffet Breakfast)

  • Day 12 - Ayers Rock - Cairns Today it''s an early start as we head out to view sunrise at Uluru (Ayers Rock).
