Airport Transfers
Group transfers on arrival at Madrid Airport will operate at 09.30, 12.30 and 15.00. Return transfers from the last hotel will arrive at Madrid Airport at 08.30 and 11.30.

Day 1- Depart USA Overnight flight to Madrid.
Day 2 - Arrive Madrid You are met at Madrid airport and transferred to your hotel. Time to relax or explore this lively Spanish capital. Later, enjoy a Welcome Drink with your Tour Director and fellow travelling companions.

Day 3 - Madrid - Toledo - Granada This morning after breakfast we travel to Toledo, capital of Castile. On our arrival a guided walking tour highlights the Jewish Synagogue and more. Next into Andalusia to hilltop Granada with its views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This evening dinner is included at our hotel. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 4 - Granada – Costa del Sol (Marbella) Our morning sightseeing tour visits the exquisite Alhambra Palace, Spain''s most beautiful Moorish building and former residence of the Moorish kings. Day 5 - Costa del Sol (Marbella) – Fez (2 nights) We begin with a Mediterranean coastal drive to Algeciras for the crossing to North Africa. Day 8 - Marrakesh sightseeing & at leisure Our walking tour with the local guide using our audio system visits the Bahia Palace and stops at the vast Djemma Square with its palm-readers, acrobats, camels, markets and more. Here we stop for some mint tea in a typical Moroccan tea–house before bargain hunting in the souks and bazaars or maybe take an excursion to a Berber village. Tonight, why not enjoy a Moroccan show? Day 9 - Marrakesh - Casablanca Today we drive to Casablanca, scene of Bogart''s most magical moments and some of North Africa''s best beaches. Here our sightseeing tour shows us the panoramas to be enjoyed from the Corniche, views the Mosque and the modern section of the city. Then we visit the Casbah, to explore its maze of twisted streets. Later time to explore this romantic city and its associations with Humphrey Bogart. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 10 - Casablanca – Rabat – Tangier We drive along the Atlantic Coast to Rabat, capital of this fascinating country. Here we enjoy an orientation featuring the Royal Mosque, Mausoleum and Royal Palace. Day 11 - Tangier - Seville (2 nights) A morning ferry cruise across the Straits of Gibraltar, with views of the famous Rock. Day 13 - Seville - Lisbon (2 nights) Today our Tour Director will show us a Hidden Treasure! But first we travel through the ''Jabugo'' producing region of Spain and past the castle at Aracena to the Alentejo region of Portugal, with its many cork forests. Soon, we arrive in Lisbon, the capital, for our two nights stay. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 15 - Lisbon – Fatima – Salamanca Today we enjoy a scenic drive through the Serra d''Aire Mountains, arriving at the Shrine at Fatima, scene of celebrated religious miracles. Then we cross the border back into Spain to Salamanca where an orientation shows us the Plaza Mayor. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 16 - Salamanca – Avila – Madrid After breakfast our first stop is at Avila, birthplace of St. Theresa, to see its mighty fortifications. From here we continue past the Sierra de Guadarrama back to Madrid for the final night of our tour. Here our sightseeing tour using our audio system features views of the Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol and Cervantes Memorial. Day 1 - Depart USA Overnight flight to Lisbon.
Day 2 - Arrive Lisbon You are met and transferred to your hotel. Time to relax or perhaps explore before meeting with your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Drink.

Day 3 - Lisbon – Albufeira (2 nights) This morning we cross the river Tagus and head towards the Serra de Arrabida Mountains. We drive via the port of Setubal and then continue on the road to the Algarve coastal region and Albufeira for our two night relaxing stay. (Buffet Breakfast)

Hotel: Montechoro (2 nights)
Day 4 - Algarve Excursion We drive to the Sagres Peninsula where we admire the view across the wild beauty of Baleeira Beach and continue to Cape St Vincent. Later we return to our hotel via the pretty resort of Lagos where Henry the Navigator set sail to discover the New World. Then time at leisure. (Buffet Breakfast/ Highlight Dinner)
Day 5 - Albufeira – Evora This morning we journey across the Serra de Caldeirao and the towns of Castro Verde and Beja. Then to Evora, Portugalís most important town in the Renaissance period. We visit the Cathedral, the macabre Ossuary chapel and the Roman temple. Later time to explore this unique walled town. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 6 - Evora - Castelo de Vide - Belmonte - Viseu First we drive to Castelo de Vide with time to wander through the narrow alleys and explore the Jewish quarter. Then across the valley of the river Tagus towards the Serra da Estrela mountains and Belmonte with its old Roman Tower. We continue to Viseu in the region of the famous Dao vineyards, where we stay tonight. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner)

Hotel: Melia Gräo Vasco
Day 7 - Viseu - Mateus - Guimaraes - Oporto (2 nights) Today our Tour Director will reveal a Hidden Treasure to us all! We travel to the Douro valley where the world famous port wines are produced. Then we visit the gardens of the Palacio de Mateus, depicted on the label of the Mateus wine bottles. On to Guimaraes with its impressive castle before arriving in Oporto. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Hotel: Vila Gale Porto (2 nights)
Day 8 - Oporto sightseeing & at leisure Our morning sightseeing shows us the remarkable bridges across the Douro river plus the Vila Nova de Gaia wine stores. We also see the baroque church of St Francis and visit the Stock Exchange with its Arabian Hall and then continue to a port cellar for wine tasting. This afternoon is at leisure. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 9 - Oporto - Coimbra - Conimbriga - Fatima We travel through the Bucaco National Park en route to Coimbra, where we see the ancient streets and squares and visit the Old University with an ornate baroque library. Next the old Roman town of Conimbriga and Tomar where we visit the Convent of Christ, before arriving in the pilgrimage city of Fatima. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 10 - Fatima – Lisbon (2 nights) First we visit the Basilica at the pilgrimage site where the three young shepherds saw the apparition of the Virgin. Then to the monastery at Batalha and the fishing village of Nazare on the coast. Finally on to Lisbon, pausing en route to visit medieval Obidos. This evening the chance to dine on local specialities. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 11 - Lisbon sightseeing & at leisure This morning on our guided tour we will see Vasco da Gamaís tomb inside the Hieronymite Monastery and admire views of the Belem Tower and the Monument to the Discoverers. Airport Transfers
Casablanca Airport Transfers will be provided on Days 2 and 11. Group transfers on arrival at Casablanca Airport will operate at 08.00, 10.00, 12.00 & 14.00. Return transfers from the last hotel will arrive at Casablanca Airport at 07.00, 10.00 and 12.00.

London Gateways: Transfers can be expensive, particularly between the Airport and central London. When you book your tour with Trafalgar your transfers to and from the airport are included. It''s that simple. Trafalgar has included a Free transfer to and from your airport and Central London.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Depart USA Overnight flight to Casablanca.
Day 2 - Arrive Casablanca You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Sightseeing includes the Grand Mosque which can accommodate 25,000 people inside and 80,000 on the Esplanade! Tonight, a Welcome Drink with your Tour Director and travelling companions.

Hotel: Sheraton
Day 3 - Casblanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fez (2 nights) Today our Tour Director will show us a Hidden Treasure! But first our orientation of the capital, Rabat, includes the royal palaces. Then we see the Bab Mansour gateway in Meknes, before arriving in Fes. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Hotel: Crown Palace (2 nights)
Day 4 - Fez sightseeing Morning sightseeing includes the Medina, Royal Palace and tanneries. The rest of the day is at leisure. Maybe shop for beautiful carpets? (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 5 - Fez – Erfoud (2 nights) We drive along the old Caravan trail south and stop at Midelt before crossing the high plateau of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Then an exciting drive along the palm-fringed Ziz valley, famous for its dates, to the Tafilalt oasis on the edge of the Sahara. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Hotel: El Ati (2 nights)
Day 6 - Erfoud - Merzouga Dunes excursion (weather permitting) Early morning drive to the edge of the Sahara desert and to the Dunes of Merzouga, the highest in North Africa, to see the sun rise. Then on through date palm groves to the remains of what was once the medieval city of Sijilmassa. Tonight we enjoy a dinner of local specialities. (Buffet Breakfast/ Highlight Dinner)
Day 7 - Erfoud – Ouarzazate Today we travel to Tinerhir to drive into the Todra Gorges. Then via the route of a thousand Kasbahs to Ourzazate! (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 8 - Ouarzazate - Marrrakesh (2 nights) After orientation, we travel via Ait Ben Haddou and the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass through the High Atlas mountains to Marrakesh. (Buffet Breakfast)

Hotel: Ryad Mogador Menara (2 nights)
Day 9 - Marrakesh sightseeing and at leisure Our sightseeing with a local guide visits the Bahia Palace and Djemma el Fna Square where we see palm readers, acrobats, camels and markets. We will also stop to enjoy a glass of delicious sweet mint tea. Later maybe take an excursion to the Majorelle gardens? (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner)
Day 10 - Marrakesh – Casablanca After free time, return to Casablanca via Settat. Later, enjoy a Farewell Dinner with your travelling companions. (Buffet Breakfast / Farewell Dinner)

Itinerary

Day 1- Depart USA Overnight flight to Madrid.
Day 2 - Arrive Madrid (2 nights) You are met at Madrid airport and transferred to your hotel. After check-in you have the chance to unwind and relax. This evening, we enjoy a Welcome Drink with our Tour Director and fellow travellers.

Hotel: Rafael Ventas (2 nights)
Day 3 - Toledo excursion & Madrid sightseeing First we enjoy an included excursion to Toledo, capital of Castile. Here sightseeing with a local guide includes a visit to the Synagogue, the Church of Santo Tome and a steel workshop. Then we return to Madrid where our guided tour shows us the Plaza Espana, the Puerta del Sol, the Cibeles Fountain and Gran Via. Tonight why not enjoy a dinner of roast suckling pig? (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4 - Madrid – Barcelona (2 nights) Today our Tour Director will reveal a special Hidden Treasure to us all! But first we drive through the gorges of the Jalon River and continue past Calatayud. Then our journey takes us via Zaragoza and vistas of the Montserrat on our approach to Barcelona for two nights. This evening, we enjoy dinner in a typical restaurant. (Buffet Breakfast, Highlight Dinner)

Day 5 - Barcelona sightseeing & at leisure Sightseeing with our local guide includes a walking tour of the Gothic Quarter with its impressive Cathedral. We also see Gaudi''s ''Sagrada Familia'' plus many of his other eccentric masterpieces. Later, we''ll view Columbus'' Monument and the Ramblas. Then enjoy some free time. Why not take an excursion to mystical Montserrat? (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 6 - Barcelona – Arles – Les Baux – Aix-en-Provence (2 nights) First we drive to the French border and the Camargue. From here we continue our journey to Arles where we visit the Cathedral of St. Trophime and admire the Roman arena. Then we head to "Les Baux", France''s mysterious fortified, hilltop ghost-town! Later, we drive through Van Gogh''s St. Remy en route to
Aix-en-Provence, for dinner and overnight stay. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 7 - Aix-en-Provence orientation & at leisure Morning orientation shows us the elegant Cours Mirabeau with its cafés and 19th century architecture. Then free time to visit the colourful markets or to explore. This afternoon why not take an excursion to Marseilles? Or maybe visit the nearby Luberon region. Your Tour Director will advise you on the best option according to the time of year. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 8 - Aix-en-Provence – St. Tropez – Cannes (2 nights) Today an early start as we drive along the highway to the coast at St. Tropez, where there''s time to watch out for the rich and famous before we cross the Mediterranean Sea by boat to Ste. Maxime, another elegant Riviera resort. Next a scenic drive brings us to Cannes, where we see the Film Festival Centre and the Boulevard de la Croisette. This evening, we enjoy a dinner of Provencal specialities in a local restaurant. (Buffet Breakfast / Highlight Dinner)

Hotel: Amarante (2 nights)
Day 9 - Cannes at leisure & Riviera drive to Nice This morning, we drive along the coast through Antibes and Juan-les-Pins to Nice where our orientation tour shows the Promenade des Anglais and the Place Massena. Time to shop in the boutiques or to explore the old town before returning to Cannes. The rest of your day is at leisure. Later, why not take an excursion to visit the medieval hilltop village of St. Paul de Vence? (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 10 - Cannes – Monaco – Pisa – Montecatini (2 nights) First we drive to the nearby Principality of Monaco to see the Palace of the Grimaldis and visit the Cathedral where Princess Grace is buried. From here we are soon at the border with Italy at Ventimiglia and driving along the Italian Riviera of the Flowers. We continue past San Remo, Rapallo, Portofino and the quarries of Carrara to Pisa. Here we see its famous Leaning Tower and Cathedral in the Square of Miracles. There''s time here to snap some photos and enjoy a cappuccino before a short drive brings us to the spa-resort of Montecatini in the Tuscan hills for two nights. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 11 - Florence Excursion This morning it''s a short drive to Renaissance Florence, where we will spend much of our day. On our arrival enjoy a walking tour with a local guide using our very effective audio system bringing to life our visit to the Santa Croce Basilica and viewing Piazza Signoria, the Duomo and its Baptistry. Then time is your own to spend in this shoppers'' paradise – which is also a haven for lovers of art and architecture. Later we return to Montecatini for dinner and our overnight stay. Day 12 - Montecatini – Rome (2 nights) Today we drive through the Chianti wine-producing region of Tuscany and the Umbrian Hills bringing us to Rome - the ''Eternal City''. Your evening is at leisure. Perhaps discover this city''s culinary delights at a local trattoria. (Buffet Breakfast)
