Airport Transfers
Airport Transfers Transfers on arrival at Athens Airport will operate at 12.00 and 19.00. Passengers arriving later should make their own way to the first hotel. Return transfers from the last hotel will arrive at Athens Airport at 09.30

Itinerary

Day 1 - Depart USA Overnight flight to Athens.
Day 2 - Arrive Athens (2 nights) You are met at Athens airport and transferred to your hotel. After check-in the rest of the day is at leisure to explore. Later we enjoy a Welcome Drink with our local Trafalgar Representative in the hotel. (Buffet Breakfast)

Hotel: Titania (2 nights)
Day 3 - Athens sightseeing Sightseeing includes a visit to the Acropolis, the Olympic stadium and the Evzone guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier. We''ll also tour some of the most famous sites in Athens such as the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian''s Arch. Afterwards, your afternoon and evening is at leisure. Why not dine on local specialities in one of Athens'' many cosmopolitan restaurants? (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4 - Athens – Cruising This morning is at leisure in Athens. This afternoon we are transferred to the port of Piraeus to board our cruise ship, our home for the next seven nights. (Dinner)
Day 5 - Cruising – at Sea Time to relax and enjoy the ship’s facilities as we cruise to Egypt. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch/ Dinner)
Day 6 - Cruising – Port Said – Pyramids Excursion We dock in Port Said at the entrance to the Suez Canal. Today we have a full day excursion to Cairo where we visit the Egyptian Museum, home of King Tutankhamun’s priceless treasures, discovered by Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings in 1922. After an included lunch, we drive to see the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World, the Great Pyramids of Giza, overlooked by the inscrutable Sphinx. After free time to shop and take pictures we return to our ship in Port
Said. (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch/ Dinner)
Day 7 - Cruising – Ashdod – Jerusalem Excursion We dock in Ashdod this morning and drive through the Judean Mountains to Jerusalem, one of the oldest towns in the world. On arrival we will drive through the New City to the Mount of Olives with wonderful views over the Old City. Then on foot we will enter the old city and reach the Via Dolorosa, the route Jesus took to his Crucifixion. We see the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, then continue to the Jewish Quarter and the Wailing Wall, the location of King Solomon’s Temple, where now stands the Dome of the Rock. We walk through the Bazaar and drive to a Kibbutz for lunch. After we drive to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity and have some free time before returning to our ship in Ashdod.(Buffet Breakfast / Lunch/ Dinner)
Day 8 - Cruising – Limassol We dock early at the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, where the day is yours to explore the city of Limassol, the centre of the Cypriot wine industry (Buffet Breakfast / Lunch/ Dinner)
Day 9 - Cruising – Antalya We arrive early in the Turkish port of Antalya, with time to explore the old town today and maybe visit the fascinating Archaeological Museum. (Buffet Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner)
Day 10 - Cruising – Santorini – Mykonos We visit the unique island of Santorini with its white cuboid houses, before continuing to Mykonos, renowned for its windmills this afternoon. There is time to shop in the amazing labyrinth of narrow little alleyways or just to relax and enjoy a cool drink in a taverna. (Buffet Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner)
Day 11 - Piraeus – Athens We disembark in Piraeus and are transferred back to our hotel in Athens. Time for last minute shopping or sightseeing or just to relax in a café. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 2 - Arrive Istanbul (2 nights) On arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Later enjoy a Welcome Drink with your Trafalgar Representative.

Hotel: Barcelo Topkapi Eresin (2 nights)
Day 3 - Istanbul Sightseeing This morning depart on a full day city tour, starting with a visit to the impressive Topkapi Palace, which served as the palace of the Ottoman Sultans between the 16th and 19th centuries. It has a superb position overlooking the Bosphorus. Then to the magnificent St. Sophia’s Basilica built originally by Constantine the Great. After lunch, visit the fascinating and impressive Blue Mosque, famous for its six minarets, its beautiful blue Iznik tiles, unique architecture and marble latticework. Then visit the Byzantine Hippodrome where chariot races and competitive athletic events took place. Finally we visit the famous, vast Grand Bazaar. (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4 - Istanbul – Gallipoli - Canakkale This morning we depart for Gallipoli and visit the poignant sites of the battlefields where many of the fiercest battles of WWI took place. Including Anzac Cove, Lone Pine Cemetery and Chanuk Bair. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner)

Day 5 - Canakkale – Troy – Pergamon - Izmir This morning we visit the legendary city of Troy, immortalised by Homer in the stories of King Priamus, Hector, Paris and the beautiful Helen. We see the archaeological excavations that have revealed nine separate periods of settlement and the ruins of city walls, house foundations, a temple and a theatre. And of course we see the symbolic replica wooden Trojan horse that commemorates the epic war machine that was constructed in the 13th century BC. Then we stop at the ancient kingdom of Pergamon, where we visit the Acropolis, the Temple of Athena and the famous library. Then we continue on to our hotel (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner)

Day 6 - Izmir - Ephesus - Virgin Mary’s House - Pamukkale This morning we set off for the ancient city of Ephesus where our walking tour includes the Great Theatre, which was built by the Romans between 41 and 117 AD and is still used today, the Temple of Hadrian, guarded by a head of Medusa and the House of the Virgin Mary.Then on to Pamukkale, where you can relax and enjoy the blissful thermal pools at our hotel.(Buffet breakfast/ Dinner)

Day 7 - Pamukkale - Hierapolis - Bursa After breakfast we will drive to Pamukkale, famous for its chalk-white array of fantastically shaped limestone. We visit the ancient ruins of Hierapolis, then continue North, to the city of Bursa. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner)

Day 8 - Bursa - Istanbul We visit the Green Ottoman Complex this morning and the old silk market. Then we cross the Marmara Sea and return to Istanbul, where we enjoy a Farewell Dinner with our fellow travellers tonight. (Buffet breakfast/ Farewell Dinner)

Itinerary

Day 1 - Depart USA Overnight flight to Istanbul.
Day 2 - Arrive Istanbul You are met and transferred to your hotel. Tonight, we enjoy a Welcome Drink and meet our travelling companions.

Day 3 - Istanbul - Gallipoli - Canakkale We drive to the Gallipoli Peninsula. Later we see Anzac Cove and visit Lone Pine Cemetery, the Dardanelles and Canakkale. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner)

Hotel: Kolin
Day 4 - Canakkale - Troy - Izmir (Smyrna) In Troy we see the famous legendary Wooden Horse before a visit to the Acropolis of ancient Pergamon. Then we continue south to Izmir where we have dinner in our hotel tonight. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner)

Hotel: Crowne Plaza
Day 5 - Izmir - Ephesus - St. Mary''s House - Pamukkale Today we visit the extensive excavations at Ephesus, with its 2,000 year old marble streets. Our journey continues pausing at Virgin Mary''s stone cottage, to Pamukkale. Dinner is at our hotel. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner)

Day 6 - Pamukkale - Hierapolis - Antalya (2 nights) First to the health spa of Hierapolis, then we have an afternoon arrival in the coastal town of Antalya. The rest of the day is free to explore the Old Town.(Buffet breakfast/ Dinner)

Hotel: Dedeman (2 nights)
Day 7 - Antalya - Perge and Aspendos Excursion We visit the Antalya Archaeological Museum. Then to the Roman cities of Perge and Aspendos where we see the best preserved Roman theatre in the world. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner)
Day 8 - Antalya - Konya See the ''Whirling Dervishes'' at the former covent in Konya, once the centre for the mystic sect, then on to Karatay Koran School. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner)

Day 9 - Konya - Cappadocia (2 nights) Journey to Biblical Cappadocia, then we visit the underground city of Kaymakli and see the cone of Uchisar. Dinner is at our hotel. (Buffet breakfast / dinner)

Hotel: Dedeman (2 nights)
Day 10 - Cappadocia - Urgup and Goreme Excursion A full day to explore this unique region of volcanic landscapes, dotted with caves and troglodyte dwellings. Then to our hotel for dinner and overnight stay. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner)
Day 11 - Cappadocia - Ankara We visit the 13th century Seljuk caravansary of Agzikarahan. At Ankara enjoy a guided sightseeing tour which includes the mausoleum of Ataturk. Dinner is at our hotel. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner)

Day 12 - Ankara - Gordion - Bursa First stop is Gordion, city of King Midas. Then to Bursa, to visit the Green Ottoman Complex and the Grand Mosque. The rest of your day is free to explore. Dinner tonight is at our hotel. (Buffet breakfast/ Dinner)

Hotel: Kervansaray Termal
Day 13 - Bursa - Istanbul (2 nights) We board our ferry to cross the Sea of Marmara to Istanbul. The rest of your day is free to explore the vast, bustling Grand Bazaar (Buffet breakfast)

Hotel: Barcelo Topkapi Eresin (2 nights)
Day 14 - Istanbul sightseeing First a guided tour of Istanbul, the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Later enjoy a traditional Farewell Dinner with music.(Buffet breakfast/ Farewell Dinner)

Important – Please Note: Passengers will only be entitled to transfers to and from London Airports providing the following conditions are met:
You are staying at a London hotel, booked by Trafalgar, on the night of your arrival and the night prior to the date of your departure.
Flights are either booked by Trafalgar or detailed information on flights is provided by your Travel Agent not less than 21 days prior to departure.
Only one included transfer both inbound and outbound per tour is included by Trafalgar. Transfers are by express train to a Central London Rail Station.
Heathrow Airport: Inbound transfers operate between 06.00-21.30. Outbound transfers are timed to connect with scheduled flights departing between 08.00-23.00. Transfers will be by coach. Gatwick Airport: Inbound transfers operate between 06.00-12.30. Outbound transfers are timed to connect with scheduled flights departing between 08.00-23.00. Transfers will be by express train and coach. Transfers outside these times will be at the passengers own expense.

Day 2 - Arrive Athens (2 nights) You are met and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is at leisure. Later, we enjoy a Welcome Drink with our local Trafalgar Representative.

Hotel: Titania (2 nights)
Day 3 - Athens sightseeing Sightseeing includes a visit to the Acropolis, the Olympic stadium and the Evzone guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier. We''ll also tour some of the most famous sites in Athens such as the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian''s Arch. Afterwards, your afternoon and evening is at leisure. Why not dine on local specialities in one of Athens'' many cosmopolitan restaurants? (Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4 - Athens - Mykonos (3 nights) First, to Piraeus port for a cruise to the playground of the rich and famous, Mykonos. On arrival we transfer to our hotel. Then free time to explore this white-washed island with its windmills and uninhibited nightlife. Tonight, we enjoy a dinner of local specialities. (Buffet Breakfast / Highlight Dinner)

Days 5 & 6 - Mykonos at leisure Two glorious days at leisure to explore Mykonos. Perhaps enjoy a cocktail on the waterfront at little Venice or swim at the dazzling beaches surrounding the island. Day 7 - Mykonos – Santorini (3 nights) We will take a short ferry ride to the beautiful island of Santorini, where we spend the next three days. We are met at the port and transferred to our hotel. Days 8 & 9 - Santorini at leisure Santorini has much to offer and you will have two full days to do as you please. Perhaps spend your days relaxing in clifftop restaurants and cafés, lazing on the sun-soaked black, red and white beaches and seeing history unearthed at the site of Akrotiri.
