Itinerary Day 1- Depart USA Overnight flight to London.   Day 2- Arrive London (2 nights) On arrival in London you are met and transferred to the hotel and the remainder of the day is at leisure. Hotel: Park Plaza County Hall (2 nights)   Day 3 - London sightseeing & at leisure On our first full day in London many major sights are included on our morning sightseeing tour. Then the remainder of your stay is at leisure, to do as you please. (Buffet Breakfast)   Day 4 - London - Brussels A warm welcome from our Tour Director as we begin our drive to Dover. Time to admire the White Cliffs before the short Channel crossing to Calais in France. Next by coach, we will continue our journey through Belgian countryside to Brussels. On our arrival an orientation tour includes the Atomium and Royal Palaces, and then we walk to see the Grand Place and the Mannekin Pis. Later we enjoy a Welcome Drink with our Tour Director and travelling companions. (Continental Breakfast) Hotel: NH Grand Place Arenberg   Day 5 - Brussels – Rhine Cruise – Heidelberg – Rhineland (Karlsruhe) Our first stop today is at Cologne to see its gothic Cathedral. Then we travel via Bonn, Beethoven''s birthplace, to Boppard for a relaxing Rhine cruise. We will disembark in St. Goar and continue on by coach to view Heidelberg Castle before arriving at our Rhineland hotel for the night. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner) Hotel: Renaissance   Day 6 - Rhineland (Karlsruhe) – Black Forest – Rhine Falls – Lucerne This morning after breakfast, we drive through the Black Forest to admire the mighty Rhine Falls at Schaff­hausen. Then we continue into Switzerland, and soon arrive at lakeside Lucerne. After dinner in our hotel, why not sample the fun of an optional Swiss folklore evening? (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner) Hotel: Schiller   Day 7 - Lucerne – Venice (Mestre) Our orientation tour shows us the Lion Monument and the Old Town walls and our Tour Director shows us a Hidden Treasure as well! (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner) Hotel: Antony   Day 8 - Venice (Mestre) – Rome (2 nights) This morning relax and take in the sights of this city on an included canal cruise by private motor launch to St. Mark''s Square, where we view the Bridge of Sighs. Later, we cross the fertile Po Valley to Bologna and join the Autostrada del Sole across the Apennine Mountains to Rome, the ''Eternal City'', for our two-night stay. (Buffet Breakfast) Hotel: Nova Domus (2 nights)   Day 9 - Rome sightseeing & at leisure After breakfast our day begins with a guided tour which includes our excellent audio system and local guide. We visit St. Peter''s Basilica in the Vatican, which includes the moving Pieta of Michelangelo, St Peter''s Square. Then we cross the Tiber to overlook the Forum and the mighty Colosseum and to see the Circus Maximus, scene of ‘Ben Hur’ style chariot races. Later, enjoy time at leisure to do as you please, you may wish to shop, relax with a cappuccino at a pavement café or visit the Sistine Chapel and the Catacombs. (Buffet Breakfast)   Day 10 - Rome - Florence This morning we travel through the hill towns of Umbria and the Chianti wine-producing region of Tuscany to Florence, cradle of the Renaissance. On our arrival a walking tour, with a special audio system and a local guide, will include the Cathedral, Baptistry, Signoria Square and a visit to the Santa Croce Basilica. The area around this basilica is now the centre of the Italian luxury goods trade. You''ll have time to shop here before dinner at the hotel this evening. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner) Hotel: Holiday Inn   Day 11 - Florence - Pisa - Nice (2 nights) Our first stop this morning is at Pisa to see its intriguing Leaning Tower. From here we continue past the marble quarries of Carrara and along the Motorway of Flowers, via Genoa, birthplace of Christopher Columbus, to the French border and Nice on the spectacular French Riviera coastline. This evening, why not enjoy a stroll along the elegant Promenade des Anglais? (Buffet Breakfast) Hotel: Ellington (2 nights)   Day 12 - Nice – Monaco Excursion This morning after breakfast enjoy a full day at lesiure to savour the relaxed ambience of the Côte d''Azur. Later, experience a taste of the high life on our included visit to the Principality of Monaco where we see the Monte Carlo casinos. We will enjoy dinner in a French restaurant this evening. The journey will take us through Burgundy''s fertile vineyards to the fascinating city of Paris, where we spend the next two nights. This evening the chance to enjoy one of the world famous Parisian cabaret shows! (Buffet Breakfast) Hotel: Concorde Saint Lazare (2 nights)   Day 14 - Paris sightseeing & at leisure First with a local guide we drive from the Place de la Concorde along the Champs Elysées to the Arc de Triomphe and then ascend to the second level of the Eiffel Tower by elevator for amazing views over the city. (Buffet Breakfast)   Day 6 - Paris – Beaune – Geneva (2 nights) Today we drive south through rolling farming country and wine producing Burgundy to the medieval town of Beaune, renowned for its wine auctions. Then on to magnificent Switzerland and to the international city of Geneva. (Buffet Breakfast) Hotel: Cornavin (2 nights)   Day 7 - Geneva orientation & at leisure This morning our orientation tour with our Tour Director shows us the Reformation Monument , the Old Town and the United Nations Building and the HQ of the Red Cross plus a fascinating Hidden Treasure of the city is revealed to us! (Buffet Breakfast)   Day 8 - Geneva – Nice (2 nights) We drive to Nice, capital of the Cote d’Azur. Tonight, after an orientation tour, we enjoy dinner in a local restaurant. (Buffet Breakfast / Highlight Dinner) Hotel: Splendid (2 nights)   Day 9 - Cannes & Perfumery Excursion We drive to Cannes , the sophisticated resort which is famous for the annual Film Festival which is held in May. Then we visit the Fragonard Perfumery before returning to Nice with time to maybe relax on the beach, explore the Old Town or shop in the bustling pedestrian streets. (Buffet Breakfast)   Day 10- Nice – Monaco – Pisa – Tuscan Hills (Montecatini) First to the Principality of Monaco , where both Princess Grace and her husband, Prince Rainier, are buried in the Cathedral. Then on to Pisa, to see the Leaning Tower, and finally to our hotel in the spa town of Montecatini. Itinerary Day 1- Depart USA Overnight flight to Rome.   Day 2 - Arrive Rome (2 nights) We transfer you to your hotel. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Drink with your Tour Director and fellow travellers. Hotel: Cardinal St Peter (2 nights)   Day 3 - Rome sightseeing & at leisure Our sightseeing tour with with a local expert includes a visit to St. Peter''s Basilica where we see the moving Pieta, one of the masterpieces of Michelangelo. We also overlook the Forum, the mighty Colosseum and Circus Maximus, where the chariot racing took place in ancient Rome. (Buffet Breakfast)   Day 4 - Rome - Florence Today we drive through the Chianti Hills to Florence where first we enjoy panoramic views over the Renaissance city from Piazzale Michelangelo. Then on our guided walking tour we see Piazza Signoria and visit Santa Croce Church where Michelangelo is buried. Later we have time to explore or shop for high quality leather and gold. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner) Hotel: Palazzo Ricasoli   Day 5 - Florence – Venice (Marcon) We drive to Venice and take a private motor launch to the area of St Mark’s Square where we see the Byzantine Basilica and the vast Ducal Palace. Later we visit a glass-blowing factory and have time to explore this fascinating city. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner) Hotel: Antony Palace   Day 6 - Venice (Marcon) – Vienna (2 nights) Today we leave Italy and drive into the beautiful country of Austria. We follow the valley of the River Danube eastwards to the capital, Vienna , where we stay for the next two nights. (Buffet Breakfast) Hotel: Hilton Danube (2 nights)   Day 7 - Vienna sightseeing & at leisure Our morning guided sightseeing tour highlights St Stephen’s Cathedral, the State Opera House, the Hofburg and the Imperial Boulevards and we are also shown a Hidden Treasure of the city by our Tour Director. (Buffet Breakfast)   Day 8 - Vienna – Salzburg – Innsbruck Past Melk Abbey to Salzburg. A walking tour with a local guide highlights Mozart''s birthplace. Then we continue northwards to the glittering capital city of Paris. Tonight, at the end of our European tour together, we enjoy a special Farewell Dinner with our Tour Director and our new found friends.
