  • Day 3 - London at leisure A full day at leisure to explore Britain''s capital city. Perhaps take an excursion to Royal Windsor or visit the famous Tower! Shopping in some of the famous department stores is a must and the parks of the city are well worth a visit - Regent’s Park’s Rose Garden, for example, is one of the most impressive in the country. (Buffet Breakfast)
     
  • Day 4- London - Shakespeare Country (Coventry) Our first stop today is the University town of Oxford. You’ll have time here to explore the wonderful old bookshops, perhaps visit one of the colleges and admire the wonderful architecture of the various college buildings. Then through rolling Cotswold Hills dotted with charming small villages, until we reach the half-timbered town of Stratford-upon-Avon, the town of Shakespeare''s birthplace. Finally we arrive in our hotel in Coventry. (Continental Breakfast/ Dinner)

  • Day 5 - Shakespeare Country ( Coventry) - Leeds Our day begins seeing Coventry''s two Cathedrals, learning of the horrific World War II bombing raids. Next we continue to Viking York where an orientation tour shows us the gothic Minster and the 11th century ''Shambles'', the narrow cobbled streets. Then we head to our hotel in Leeds where we dine tonight. (Full Breakfast /Dinner)

  • Day 6 - Leeds - Edinburgh (Falkirk) (2 nights) After breakfast we travel to the city of Durham built on a peninsula on the River Wear. We’ll visit Palace Green where the ancient Castle with its Keep are located opposite the Romanesque Cathedral - one of the most beautiful in Europe. We have time for coffee in one of the charming cafés of the city before we continue through the Northumberland National Park and into Scotland, stopping to view the ruins of Jedburgh Abbey, en route to Airth Castle.. (Full Breakfast)

  • Day 7 - Edinburgh sightseeing & at leisure We drive to nearby Edinburgh where our sightseeing shows us Princes Street, the Royal Mile and views of the castle. Then free time to perhaps potter around the Grass Market or visit Holyrood House. Alternatively you may wish to venture outside the city and visit the Rosslyn Chapel, made famous by Dan Brown’s ‘Da Vinci Code’. Later, you have the option of a night out with Highland dancing, bagpipes and regional specialities such as Haggis. (Full Breakfast)
     
  • Day 8 - Edinburgh (Falkirk) – Chester (Runcorn) Today, we drive through the Southern Uplands to Moffat Woollens en route back into England. Then we enjoy a scenic drive through the Lake District stopping in Grasmere. Along the shores of Windermere and through pastures, reminiscent of Wordsworth''s great poetry, to Haydock, near Chester, for dinner and overnight stay.(Full Breakfast / Dinner)

  • Day 9 - Chester (Runcorn) – Dublin (2 nights) We''re off to the centre of Roman Chester this morning, with a chance to admire its Tudor architecture and galleried shops known as the ''Rows''. Time to walk the Roman walls and perhaps visit the Cathedral or simply shop for souvenirs before we return to our coach. Then we skirt the Snowdonia National Park in Wales and drive to Holyhead where we board our ferry and cruise to Ireland. On arrival we take our coach and continue to Dublin for our two-night stay.(Full Breakfast)

  • Day 11 - Dublin - Ennis Today our journey takes us across rich farmland to Galway. Here there''s time to view the Cathedral before we continue our drive alongside Galway Bay. From here we continue to Ennis where we spend the night. (Full Breakfast, Dinner)

  • Day 12 - Ennis - Limerick - Waterville (Kerry) This morning we drive to nearby Limerick, where a short orientation shows us St. Mary''s Cathedral and King John''s Castle. Then there''s time perhaps to visit Bunratty Castle and Folk Park before we begin our drive via the prettiest village in Ireland, Adare, en route to Killarney. We drive around the ''Ring of Kerry'' with magnificent scenery including plunging cliffs, granite mountains and enthralling seascapes. Later on to Waterville for the night. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)

  • Day 13 - Waterville (Kerry) - Cork - Waterford Today we travel into County Cork, stopping at Blarney Castle to kiss the famous stone and acquire the ''gift of the gab''. From here it''s on to Cork, where an orientation tour shows us the City Hall and St. Anne''s Shandon Church. Finally on to Waterford, home of the world-renowned crystal, where we visit the showroom. Next we continue our journey to Salisbury Plain and the mysterious Stone Circle, Stonehenge. Then to Salisbury where we view its impressive Cathedral before finally returning to London and the end of our tour. (Full Breakfast)

  • London Gateways: A Trafalgar bonus – transfers can be expensive, particularly between the Airport and central London. When you book your Costsaver tour with Trafalgar your transfers to and from the airport are included. It''s that simple. Trafalgar has included a Free transfer to and from your airport and Central London.
  • Important – Please Note: Passengers will only be entitled to transfers to and from London Airports providing the following conditions are met:
  • You are staying at a London hotel, booked by Trafalgar, on the night of your arrival and the night prior to the date of your departure.
  • Flights are either booked by Trafalgar or detailed information on flights is provided by your Travel Agent not less than 21 days prior to departure.
  • Only one included transfer both inbound and outbound per tour is included by Trafalgar. Transfers are by express train to a Central London Rail Station.
  • Heathrow Express operates between 05.10-23.30. Gatwick Express operates inbound services between 05.20-23.45 and outbound services from 04.30-23.45. Transfers outside of these times are at the passengers own expense.
  • In the event of unforeseen events (road or rail works, demonstrations, strikes) Trafalgar will not be held responsible for delayed or cancelled transfers.

Here orientation reveals its Elizabethan charm before heading to Coventry, home of Lady Godiva, to view the old and new Cathedrals standing side by side. Then on through the Midlands into Yorkshire arriving at our hotel in Leeds. (Dinner)

  • Day 7 - Edinburgh (Dunfermline) – Scottish Highlands (Aviemore) (2 nights) Today we travel over the impressive Forth Bridge to the University town of St. Andrews where Prince William studied and stop at the famous golf course. We continue towards the Highlands via Perth and Pitlochry to the Cairngorm mountains and our hotel for the next two nights. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)

  • Day 8 - Scottish Highlands – Isle of Skye Excursion We follow the banks of beautiful Loch Ness – look out for the monster! – through the Western Highlands to the Kyle of Lochalsh. We cross over to the Isle of Skye, associated with Bonnie Prince Charlie, and spend some time exploring this unique Scottish island. Finally we return to our hotel for dinner. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
     
  • Day 9 - Scottish Highlands - Glasgow After breakfast we drive to Fort William, in the shadow of Ben Nevis – Britain’s highest mountain, and then along the shores of Loch Linnhe to Glencoe – Vale of the Weeping.   • Day 11 - Chester & North Wales Excursion First we''re off to Chester, where orientation shows us the arcaded ''Rows''. Next into the hills and valleys of North Wales. Over the Horseshoe pass, we arrive in Llangollen, home of the Music Eisteddfod, and return to Runcorn. (Full Breakfast)
     
  • Day 12 - Chester area (Runcorn) – Dublin (2 nights) We drive along the Welsh Coast via Colwyn Bay, skirting the Snowdonia National Park, to Caernarvon to view the castle where the Prince of Wales was invested, then cross to the island of Anglesey where we board our ferry at Holyhead to Ireland. We then drive to Dublin for two nights. (Full Breakfast)

  • Day 14 - Dublin - Sligo (2 nights) We head north-westward to follow the Royal Canal to Mullingar. Then on to Boyle to view the 12th century Cistercian Abbey ruins. Then lush green Irish countryside rolls by on our way to Sligo Bay where we spend the next two nights. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)

  • Day 15 - Northern Ireland & Donegal Along the coast to the seaside resort of Bundoran in County Donegal and across
    the border into Northern Ireland to visit the famous Belleek Pottery Centre. Afterwards we drive along the shores of Lough Erne to Enniskillen before returning to our hotel (Full Breakfast / Dinner)
     
  • Day 16 - Sligo - Ennis (2 nights) We enjoy the scenery in Connemara, stopping at Kylemore Abbey and continuing to Galway Bay. We stop in Galway before reaching Ennis. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)

  • Day 17 - Excursion to The Burren Today we see the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher. From O''Brien''s Tower, we can see the Aran Islands, (weather permitting), at the entrance to Galway Bay.(Full Breakfast)
     
  • Day 18 - Ennis - Waterville (Kerry) Admire the thatched cottages of Adare, before heading to County Kerry, where we stop in Killarney. Then we enjoy the first half of our Ring of Kerry drive along Dingle Bay and on to Waterville. (Full Breakfast / Dinner)

  • Day 19 - Waterville (Kerry) - Waterford Today we complete our drive around the Ring of Kerry and travel to Blarney Castle, where we have a chance to acquire the ''gift of the gab''.
