  • Day 4 - London - Brussels A warm welcome from our Tour Director as we drive to Dover for the short sea crossing to Calais in France. From here we join our touring coach which takes us to Brussels, Belgium''s capital. Tonight, why not admire the Grand Place? (Continental Breakfast)

  • Day 5 - Brussels - Heidelberg - Rhineland (Karlsruhe) This morning after breakfast we cross Belgium into Germany, where the tranquil scenery of our Rhine cruise includes castles and hillside vineyards. We see the legendary Lorelei Rock before we rejoin our coach and head to the University city of Heidelberg to view its ancient Castle. Finally we drive to our Rhineland hotel for dinner and overnight stay. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

  • Day 6 - Rhineland (Karlsruhe) - Lake Lucerne Today we drive into the hills to see picturesque Lake Titisee. Then we continue into Switzerland, making a stop to admire the mighty Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen. Next we travel via Zurich, Switzerland''s affluent financial centre, a­­nd on to the lake of Lucerne where an orientation tour shows us the Lion Monument and the charming wooden Chapel Bridge.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

  • Day 7 - Lake Lucerne - Venice (Mestre) The St. Gotthard highway takes us past alpine peaks and through lush green meadows as we make our way into Italy at Chiasso.   • Day 8 - Venice (Mestre) - Rome (2 nights) This morning after breakfast, we are introduced to the fascination of this city built on water. Everywhere there are reminders of medieval maritime power and wealth as we cruise the canals. Then leaving Venice behind, we head towards the Apennine Mountains and the Chianti Hills as the Autostrada del Sole brings us to the ''Eternal City'' – Rome, for our two-night stay.   • Day 10 - Rome - Florence - Montecatini (Tuscan Hills) Today enjoy a scenic drive through Tuscany to Renaissance Florence. This city is one of the liveliest and most creative in Europe with some of the world''s greatest works of art and magnificent buildings. There''s the Cathedral, Giotto''s Bell Tower, the Baptistery and Signoria Square. Then by coach, we gain a panoramic view of the city from Piazzale Michelangelo before you have the opportunity to shop for leather and gold in the area around Santa Croce. Finally we go to our hotel in the elegant spa-resort of Montecatini. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

  • Day 11 - Montecatini (Tuscan Hills) - Pisa - Nice We head to Galileo''s home town - Pisa to view the lovely marble Baptistery and see the famous Leaning Tower.   • Day 3 - London at leisure After breakfast enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Britains exciting capital. (Buffet Breakfast)
     
  • Day 4 - London - Amsterdam A warm welcome from our Tour Director as we enjoy a scenic drive through Kent to Dover. Here we view the White Cliffs before boarding our ferry for the short Channel crossing to Calais in France. From here we travel first into Belgium and Flanders fields and then into Holland renowned for windmills. We arrive in Amsterdam where we will enjoy a visit to a diamond factory before going to our hotel. Tonight, why not try out some of the culinary specialities of this friendly city – perhaps later, explore the Red Light district! (Buffet Breakfast)

  • Day 5 - Amsterdam – Rhineland (Luwigshafen) We drive via Arnhem to Germany on our approach to Cologne with its magnificent gothic Cathedral. Time for a spot of lunch before following the banks of the Rhine to the village of Boppard where we embark for our scenic Rhine Cruise past clinging vineyards and towering castles. Finally we arrive in our Rhineland hotel for dinner and overnight stay. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner)

  • Day 6 - Rhineland (Luwigshafen) – Innsbruck (Igls) Today we drive on to fun-loving Munich in Bavaria to see the Olympic Stadium, Glockenspiel and Hofbrauhaus. We continue along the Inn valley and into the Austrian Tyrol where we arrive in the picturesque town of Innsbruck. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner)

  • Day 7 - Innsbruck (Igls) – Venice (Marghera) Morning orientation of this Hapsburg city shows us the Golden Roof and Hofburg Palace. Time to shop in the arcaded streets for crystal souvenirs before heading off for the Brenner Pass and an exhilarating drive through the Alps to Italy. The splendid scenery continues as we drive through the Dolomites to the romantic city of Venice, where on our included canal cruise to St. Mark''s Square, new delights abound at each and every turn. We see St. Mark''s Basiilca, the Doges Palace and visit a traditional glass-blowing workshop before free time to perhaps take a gondola serenade!  (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner)

  • Day 8 - Venice (Marghera) - Rome (2 nights) This morning we drive along the Veneto plain via Bologna over the Apennine Mountains before arriving in Tuscany. Then through Umbria and Lazio to the cradle of the Roman civilisation – the Eternal City that is Rome. (Buffet Breakfast)

  • Day 9 - Rome sightseeing & at leisure After breakfast there''s a whole day for in-depth exploration. Our sightseeing tour features
    St. Peter''s Basilica and views of the Forum and the mighty Colosseum. There''s free time later to marvel at the tapestries in the Vatican Museum and perhaps take a trip to Tivoli Gardens to see the incredible fountains. (Buffet Breakfast)
     
  • Day 10 - Rome - Florence (Calenzano) We leave Rome to drive through Tufa hills and then into ''Chiantishire'' with its fields of tobacco, sunflowers and abundant vineyards. Soon we arrive in the Renaissance city of Florence where after a visit to Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy spectacular views of the city, you have time on your own to visit Piazza Signoria, the Duomo and Giotto''s Bell-Tower. Time to shop for beautiful leather goods and 18 carat gold jewellery or to perhaps visit one of the city''s many art galleries and museums before going to our hotel for dinner and overnight stay. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner)

  • Day 11 - Florence (Calenzano) - Lake Lucerne (2 nights) Today we take the Highway of the Sun and traverse the Apennines to head north to Lombardy and Milan. Then through the Italian Lake District, seeing lake Como, we cross into Switzerland to the lake of Lugano, where we stop to visit the pretty lakeside resort. Finally through the Gotthard range we drive along the shores of glassy Lake Lucerne to our hotel. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner)

  • Day 12 - Lake Lucerne – Lucerne orientation and at leisure Orientation of this medieval town on the banks of the River Reuss and the lake shows us the Chapel Bridge and poignant Lion Monument. Then you have time to perhaps ascend a nearby mountain peak and later this afternoon perhaps shop for delicious chocolates and precision-made timepieces.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner) 
     
  • Day 13 - Lake Lucerne – Paris (2 nights) After breakfast we travel through Basel to France where we skirt the Vosges mountains on our way into the wine region of Burgundy. We pass charming French villages and castles and acres of vineyards as we travel to the French capital – the elegant and exciting city of Paris! (Buffet Breakfast)

  • Day 14 - Paris sightseeing & at leisure Views of the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral and more all feature on our morning sightseeing tour. Then time is your own to stroll along the banks of the Seine, admire the works of the great masters in the Louvre or perhaps visit Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur. Airport Transfers
 
  • London Gateways: A Trafalgar bonus – transfers can be expensive, particularly between the Airport and central London. When you book your Costsaver tour with Trafalgar your transfers to and from the airport are included. It''s that simple. Trafalgar has included a Free transfer to and from your airport and Central London.
  • Important – Please Note: Passengers will only be entitled to transfers to and from London Airports providing the following conditions are met:
  • You are staying at a London hotel, booked by Trafalgar, on the night of your arrival and the night prior to the date of your departure.
  • Flights are either booked by Trafalgar or detailed information on flights is provided by your Travel Agent not less than 21 days prior to departure.
  • Only one included transfer both inbound and outbound per tour is included by Trafalgar. Transfers are by express train to a Central London Rail Station.
  • Heathrow Express operates between 05.10-23.30. Gatwick Express operates inbound services between 05.20-23.45 and outbound services from 04.30-23.45. Transfers outside of these times are at the passengers own expense.
  • In the event of unforeseen events (road or rail works, demonstrations, strikes) Trafalgar will not be held responsible for delayed or cancelled transfers.
  • No refund is available for passengers not utilising this service.
  • Why not upgrade to a Hotelink transfer from the Airport to-the-door of your Trafalgar London hotel? (please ask Trafalgar or your travel agent of the additional upgrade price per person when booking)
  • European Gateways: With Trafalgar all passengers will receive complimentary arrival and departure transfers on the scheduled arrival and departure day of their tour at the times specified below. Please ensure your Travel Agent reserves your flight to co-ordinate with the transfer times shown.
  • Trafalgar Bonus - Passengers who book Trafalgar''s Land+Air package and who arrive or depart outside of these specified times on the scheduled arrival and departure day of the tour will also be provided with a transfer.
  • Passengers arriving before or leaving after the scheduled tour days are not entitled to a transfer but may book and purchase one through Trafalgar providing that they also purchase the additional pre and/or post tour hotel night(s) from Trafalgar. Please ask for prices of transfers at the time of booking your extra night accommodation.
  • Land only passengers arriving or departing on the scheduled tour arrival or departure days but whose flights don''t coincide with the listed transfer times below may also book and purchase these transfers. Flight details must be provided to Trafalgar not less than 21 days before the flight departure.

  • Day 1- Depart USA Overnight transatlantic flight to London.
     
  • Day 2- Arrive London (2 nights) Time to relax after checking into your Trafalgar hotel.

  • Day 3 - London at leisure A full day at leisure to explore Britains capital. (Buffet Breakfast)
     
  • Day 4 - London - Paris (2 nights) A warm welcome from our Tour Director as we drive to Dover to cross the Channel to Calais in France. (Continental Breakfast)

    Hotel: Novotel Est (2 nights)
     
  • Day 5 - Paris sightseeing & at leisure Sightseeing includes views of the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Notre Dame. Then time to explore. (Buffet Breakfast)
     
  • Day 6 - Paris - Geneva (2 nights) We drive through wine-producing Burgundy and stop in medieval Beaune before arriving in Geneva.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

    Hotel: Drake & Longchamp (2 nights)
     
  • Day 7 - Geneva orientation & at leisure Orientation includes the Reformation Monument, United Nations building and Jet d'' Eau. Then time at leisure.(Buffet Breakfast )
     
  • Day 8 - Geneva - Nice (2 nights) We pass the Winter Olympic resort of Grenoble, then take part of the Route Napoleon via Sisteron to Nice. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

  • Day 9 - St. Paul de Vence & Perfumery Excursion First we visit the medieval town of St. Paul de Vence, then a visit to the Fragonard perfumery. (Buffet Breakfast)
     
  • Day 10 - Nice - Montecatini We drive to the Principality of Monaco where we see the grave of Princess Grace. Then to the Leaning Tower of Pisa and onto Montecatini. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

  • Day 11 - Montecatini - Florence - Venice (Favoro) (2 nights) First to Piazzale Michelangelo for views of Florence, then time to shop for leather and gold, before we leave for Venice. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

    Hotel: Holiday (2 nights)
     
  • Day 12 - Venice orientation at leisure Savour Venice on a canal cruise by vaporetto to St. Mark''s Square viewing the Bridge of Sighs
    and visiting a glass-blowing factory. Then time at leisure to explore or perhaps take a cruise to the islands of the Lagoon. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
     
  • Day 13 - Venice (Favoro) - Rome (2 nights) We drive via Bologna across the Apennine Mountains to reach Rome. Tonight, why not dine out in a local trattoria? (Continental Breakfast)

  • Day 14 - Rome sightseeing & at leisure Sightseeing features a visit to St. Peter''s Basilica and views of the Forum and the mighty Colosseum. Then free time to explore. (Buffet Breakfast)
