Part 1. Cancellation Fee Waiver. Cancellation fee waiver allows you to cancel your trip for any reason, up to and including the day of departure, and receive a full cash refund of the tour cost for land tours, minus the cost of the Plan. You may also choose to cancel in the midst of your travels for any reason and receive a refund for the unused portion of the trip, minus the cost of the Plan. For cruise-tours, varying penalties are assessed based on date of cancellation, but you may still cancel for any reason. Please ask our Reservations Sales Counselors about the specifics for the trip you are considering.

Part 2. Guest Protection Plan The Tauck World Discovery Guest Protection Plan includes pre-trip cancellation protection, on-tour coverage and post-departure coverage. Prices for the Plan range from $125 to $590 per person, depending on the itinerary and include the following.

Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption

LAND ARRANGEMENTS - If you cancel or interrupt your tour for ANY REASON, all land package cancellation fees imposed by Tauck World Discovery will be reduced.

AIRFARE - If you must cancel your tour due to a covered reason, the Tauck World Discovery Guest Protection Plan provides coverage for airfare cancellation charges up to your TOTAL ORIGINAL AIRFARE COST. In addition, if you interrupt your tour due to a covered reason the Plan will reimburse your additional airfare to return home or rejoin the tour, up to $1,500 for U.S./Canadian Tours and up to $2,500 for International Tours.

PARTIAL ROOM CANCELLATION - If a person booked to share accommodations with you cancels or interrupts his/her Tour for a covered reason and you continue the Tour, you are covered up to your Tour Cost for the change in the per-person occupancy rate.

Trip Delay
If you should miss the departure of your vacation due to carrier-caused delays or other covered reasons, the Program reimburses you for additional accommodations, meals and "catch up" transportation expenses. The Plan provides reimbursement up to $500 for U.S./Canadian Tours and up to $750 for International Tours.

Medical Protection
If you become ill or are injured while on your trip, the Tauck World Discovery Guest Protection Plan will cover up to $3,000 in medical expenses for U.S./Canadian Tours and up to $5,000 for International Tours. The medical policy also covers emergency evacuation (up to $15,000 for U.S./Canadian Tours and up to $25,000 for International Tours) and repatriation of remains expenses (up to $3,000 for U.S. Canadian Tours and up to $5,000 for International Tours). Medical coverage while traveling overseas is particularly important as Medicare and some HMO’s may not cover medical expenses incurred outside the U.S.

Baggage Protection
Reimburses expenses up to $1,000 (U.S./Canadian Tours) or $1,500 (International Tours) for the covered loss, damage, or theft of baggage and/or personal effects during or while in transit to or from your vacation. This benefit also includes baggage delay protection, covering you for the purchase of necessary items (up to $200 for U.S./Canadian Tours or up to $500 for International Tours) in the event your luggage is delayed by a common carrier for more then 24 hours en route to your vacation.
