In
Holland America's universe there's something for everyone. Start
the day by reading the ship's daily activity sheet, simply packed
with good news. Then circle your choices and go with the flow.
Walk or jog around the Promenade Deck (five laps are one mile).
Join an aerobics class, play bingo, learn the latest, hottest
dance. Play Trivial Pursuit, take an art and history tour of the
ship, have a massage or sauna.
Theme
Cruises
Every Holland America cruise has its
own unique focus...beach life, natural history, culture, shopping,
adventure. But some add particular appeal by also weaving their
itineraries around special entertainment themes. If you're a fan
of Ol' Blue Eyes, you'll want to be onboard as we present the
music and incomparable stylings of Frank Sinatra. Swing through
the Caribbean with the colossal sound of big-name Big Band
Orchestras. Rock and roll to the oldies at our '50s Sock Hop. Line
dance on a boot scootin' Country Music Cruise. Or relive the
classic moments of song and dance on our Greats of Broadway
Cruise. A difficult choice, but with no wrong answer.
Children's
Program: Club HAL Pleasures of Cruising
Bring the kids
and make it a family cruise. Thanks to Club HAL, a special program
that offers oceans of fun for guests 5 through 17, the entire
family can have the vacation of their dreams. You snorkeling in
crystal blue waters, the kids building sand castles on the beach.
Or vice versa.
Fun for kids, tweens
and teens
Club HAL Youth Program
Holland America has a youth and teen program for kids and teen
ages 5-17. Each ship is staffed with a professional Club HAL
Director dedicated to making sure kids and teens of all ages have
a great time. Some of the fun-filled activities include bingo for
prizes, arts & crafts, special parties and much more. Each
child or teen also receives a Club HAL t-shirt. An activity
schedule for each age group will be delivered to your stateroom
each evening.
Activities are offered for kids (ages 5-8), tweens (9-12) and
teens (13-17). The program has an open door policy, which means
participants may come and go as they please. They will be
supervised at all activities, however, the Club HAL Director is
not responsible for any child or teen if he/she chooses to leave
the activity. Children under five years of age are welcome to
participate in the program, provided an adult accompanies them.Club HAL activities are captivating enough to engage youngsters
ages 5 to 8, cool enough to attract tweens and teens.
It all begins with a special Welcome Aboard meeting the first
night of the cruise with our full-time youth coordinator and
continues throughout the cruise with a dedicated daily youth
program filled with fun: storytelling, crafts and candy bar bingo
for the little kids; putt-putt golf, pool parties and video games
for tweens and teens.
And the fun lasts well into the night with movies, pizza and disco
parties, so you can enjoy your evening knowing the kids are having
a good time properly supervised.
Food to please the most finicky eaters
Call it what you will--finicky, particular, hard-to-please--the
kids will tell you it's simply a matter of taste. Which is why
we've designed a menu that includes their favorites: hot dogs,
hamburgers, pizza, fish n' chips, chicken dippers and more.
Bolstered by the fresh salt air, your kids just may surprise you
with their new appetites for life.
