Accurate,
detailed tour descriptions
You'll understand the
true value of Globus tours when you read the tour descriptions.
The
agenda for each touring day is spelled out so that you know exactly
what is included in the price. We urge you to compare what we give
you in a tour with what other tour operators offer and then compare
the prices.
Discount
for young tour members
More and more parents
and grandparents share the pleasure of a Globus tour with their
children and grandchildren. To encourage this, we grant a 10 percent
discount on the land-only price to tour members who are under 18
years old on the tour departure date, provided they are accompanied
by an adult.
On escorted tours we do
not accept children under eight years old because we've found that
they are too young to enjoy these vacations. On independent tours,
except cruises, there is no age limit.
Triple
room reduction
On most tours Globus
grants a reduction to three people who travel together and share
the
same accommodation. Triple room reductions are listed on the tour
pages.
A word of caution:
Triple rooms usually are no larger than twin rooms, and the third
bed
is often a rollaway bed put in a twin-bedded room for the night.
Avoid
the single room supplement
Single rooms cost extra
and often they are quite small. We do not take reservations on
a
"share" basis because we have found that strangers rarely enjoy
sharing a room for the duration of a tour. Sidestep the single room
supplement by traveling with a friend. It's
less expensive and
much more fun!
If you do pay for a
single room, please be aware that on very rare occasions hotels are
unable to provide all the single rooms we reserve. If this occurs,
you will be asked to
share a room with a tour member of the same
gender, and the tour director will issue
a refund on the spot.
Pay
less for your second tour
Globus tours
are designed and scheduled so you can combine them almost any way
you want.
Consecutive tours can
be booked with or without transatlantic flights. Any intra-European
flights between tours cannot be reserved as part of the Globus
package. Please call 1-800-942-3301 to reserve and ticket such
flights for you.
Airport transfers are
not available for any inter-tour flights. To calculate the
air-inclusive price of two consecutive tours, add 50 percent of the
air cost (air-inclusive price minus land-only price) of the first
tour to 50 percent of the air cost of the second tour. Add this sum
to the sum of the land-only prices of the two tours.
Joining
late and leaving early
Many Globus land
arrangements start and end in London because flying there is more
convenient and less expensive than flying to other gateway cities.
If you have already spent time in the British capital, you may want
to skip one or more of the included
London nights, or even join the
tour at the first hotel on the Continent. Reductions for joining
late or leaving early are clearly listed on the tour pages.
Tours with a reduction
for joining late or leaving early are sold on a land-only basis.
Globus transatlantic flights are not available.
Save
by forming your own group
We grant the following
rebates on the land arrangements of your tour if you form your
own
group:
On independent tours
and tours including a cruise of three or more nights, one person
in
a group of 32 travels free. In a group of 16, one person travels at
half price.
On all other tours, one
person in a group of 16 travels free. In a group of eight, one
person travels at half price.
If no tour in this
brochure meets your exact requirements, we can tailor-make an
itinerary. We'll set up a tour that caters
to any special interest your group may have.
It's
in your interest to book early
Plan your vacation in
advance, and book your tour as soon as possible to guard against the
disappointment of not finding space on the tour or date of your
choice. Many Globus tours sell out months before the departure date.
And remember, the
moment we receive your deposit your land price is guaranteed. This
is valuable protection against currency fluctuations and other cost
increases. So please don't wait. Contact your Atlas Travel now for
a vacation you'll never forget!
As a rule of thumb, a
day of touring with Globus costs you no more than you would pay
on
your own for a hotel overnight. Yet we also provide the services of
a tour director, a luxurious motorcoach and professional driver,
many meals, a rich sightseeing program, and more!
Sharing a motorcoach, a
tour director, and local sightseeing guides with other travelers
isn't only cost-efficient - it's much more fun than going it
alone. Save even more when you form your own group.
Each Globus tour member
receives a roomy travel bag sized for under-the-seat storage
on
flights and ideal for use on motorcoaches. It's filled with an
assortment of useful
items: a wallet to hold passports and
documents, baggage tags, a name badge, a copy
of your itinerary,
tips for touring, and information on your tour hotels, optional
excursions.
