in Munich with sightseeing that includes Olympic Stadium and the
gothic Frauenkirche. Next, on through the scenic Swabian Jura
and along the Romantic Road to medieval Rothenburg. Visit the
Pastorius Haus in Bad Windsheim—built by the father of the
founder of Germantown, Pennsylvania—then to Nuremberg for an
orientation walk through Old Town and a visit to the War
Documentation Center and the Party Rally Grounds. In
Kleinlosnitz, see original homes of migrants from the
Fichtelgebirge area, then on to Dresden to visit Zwinger Palace
and the Green Vault, August the Strong’s famous treasury. Stop
in Radebeul, Weimar, and Erfurt, where Martin Luther was a
student. Marvel at the medieval Krämer Bridge on which 33
dwellings are built, and enjoy a guided visit of 900-year-old
Wartburg Castle, where Luther translated the New Testament.
Next, stop in Mühlhausen—birthplace of August Roebling, the
architect of the Brooklyn Bridge—before continuing to Hamburg,
Stade, and Cuxhaven. See where millions of people bid farewell
to Germany for a new beginning in America, and in Bremerhaven,
visit the German Emigration Center. Return to Hamburg for guided
sightseeing and a scenic harbor cruise, then to see the
beautifully preserved, half-timbered houses in Celle. Stop at
the former East-West border and continue to Berlin. Guided
sightseeing includes the Ku’damm, the restored Reichstag,
Charlottenburg Palace, Brandenburg Gate, the Victory Column in
