Arrive in London, England. (Tue.) COME TOGETHER Free time in the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll city before departing for your welcome dinner at the original HARD ROCK CAFÉ in Park Lane. Visit The Vault, where you can see the very first piece of memorabilia donated to a Hard Rock Café – Eric Clapton’s Lead II Fender, originally donated to reserve a space at the busy bar. Enjoy a treasure trove of musical memorabilia, including Hendrix’s ‘Flying V’ Gibson guitar, and John Lennon’s amended lyrics to Imagine. [D]

Day 3:
London. (Wed.) TICKET TO RIDE Rock tour of London. In the company of a local expert, see where Jimi Hendrix died, where Bob Marley’s reggae revolution began and where the Sex Pistols started their notorious career. Hear about the numerous bands and artists that have made London the rock capital of the world for more than 40 years – Pink Floyd, The Who, The Rolling Stones and many more. See many Beatles sites, including the famous Abbey Road studios and crossing. Day 1:
(Sat.) Board your overnight transatlantic flight.

Day 2:
Arrival in London, England. (Sun.) Check into your hotel where your Tour Director will be waiting to welcome you. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or start exploring the lively British capital. At 6 p.m. meet your traveling companions for a welcome drink and dinner at the hotel. (D)

Day 3:
London. (Mon.) Morning sightseeing with a Local Guide includes all the famous landmarks: Knightsbridge with Harrods, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben beside the River Thames, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace. The morning’s highlights are a visit to ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL, and the ceremonial pageantry of the Changing of the Guard, if held. The afternoon is free for you to sightsee on your own. For tour departures 0803 through 0824 a fascinating guided tour of nearby Parliament is a unique inclusion. See the Commons and Lords debating chambers, the Queen’s Robing Room, and other areas of the parliamentary estate, only open during the summer recess. Tonight, maybe a cruise on the River Thames? Day 4:
At Leisure in London. (Tue.) A free day for independent activities. Your Tour Director will help you plan your day. A full-day optional excursion to Bath and Stonehenge, an optional afternoon excursion to Windsor Castle or to the Tower of London with its fabulous Crown Jewels might be the best way to make the most of your time. Day 5:
Full-day Excursion to Shakespeare Country. (Wed.) Join your Tour Director at 8 a.m. and head into the country for a lovely day’s sightseeing. In Stratfordupon- Avon take your pictures of Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and visit SHAKESPEARE’S BIRTHPLACE, with time afterwards to explore this pretty Elizabethan town at your own pace. Take a drive into the Cotswold Hills to enjoy the picturesque villages and idyllic rolling English landscapes. At Oxford, city of the dreaming spires, a local expert conducts you on a private visit to an internationally famous COLLEGE. Return to London around 6 p.m., with the rest of the evening free. (FB)

Day 6:
Full-day Excursion to Canterbury and Leeds Castle. (Thu.) Depart this morning for a drive southeast into Kent, the “Garden of England,” for a visit to CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL, England’s Mother Church, where you hear about Thomas à Becket and the Black Prince. Then, at nearby mighty, moated LEEDS CASTLE, which Lord Conway described as “the loveliest castle in the world,” there’s plenty of time to admire the lavish state apartments, which have hosted international summit meetings, and to take a leisurely stroll in the magnificent gardens. Return to London around 5 p.m. (FB)

Day 7:
At Leisure in London. (Fri.) Another day with time for independent leisure activities. For that last-minute shopping a visit to Harrods is an absolute must! A unique finale to a great week in London might be an optional special dinner followed by a West End show. Your Tour Director will make the arrangements. (FB)

First, a special visit to admire the breathtaking ORNAMENTAL GARDENS of Henry VIII’s Hampton Court Palace. Your Tour Director will take you on a walk to see the Great Vine, Pond Garden, Privy Garden, and the flower borders of the Great Fountain Garden. Drive through Runnymede, site of the sealing of the Magna Carta; take a stroll in Oxford to see the colleges where Britain’s elite receives its outstanding education; pay tribute to one of the giants of recent history at Sir Winston Churchill’s burial place in Bladon. Arrive in Stratford-upon-Avon in good time to take your pictures of Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and visit SHAKESPEARE’S BIRTHPLACE. Day 5:
Stratford–Bath. (Thu.) A particularly scenic day. Enjoy vistas of the Cotswold Hills as you motor to the Elizabethan village of Broadway. On past Cheltenham and Gloucester to Wales for a drive through the beautiful Wye Valley and pictures of the romantic ruins of 12th-century Tintern Abbey. Cross the 3,240-foot Severn Road Bridge, and in elegant Georgian Bath, see the amazing excavations of the ROMAN BATHS with time to explore further on your own. (FB,D)

Day 6:
Bath–Brighton. (Fri.) This morning try to unravel the mystery of prehistoric STONEHENGE on the drive across Salisbury Plain. Stroll through the picturesque city of Salisbury with its magnificent cathedral, the ultimate in Early English Gothic. Glimpse the town of Arundel, dominated by its huge castle, home of the Duke of Norfolk, before arriving in the Regency seaside resort of Brighton. A unique highlight: a tour of the exotic ROYAL PAVILION, the lavish oriental palace built for the Prince Regent in the early 1800s. (FB,D)

Day 7:
Brighton–London. (Sat.) Start the day with time for a walk along the seafront promenade. Enjoy a visit to Tunbridge Wells, a lovely English town, on your way to magnificent moated LEEDS CASTLE, which Lord Conway called “the loveliest castle in the world.” Take a leisurely stroll in the landscaped gardens, and admire the lavish state apartments where international summit meetings have been hosted.
