Beach Nature Walk Guests explore dunes, inter-dune meadows, and inter-tidal zones as they gain insight into the beach system as a whole. Barrier island formation, tides, accretion, and erosion are emphasized. Adults & Families: (2 hours) Bird Watcher's Heaven Guests are given tips on using binoculars to identify the low country's rich avifauna, while learning basic birding techniques. Lists are compiled on each walk and a complete record is kept of the birds spotted around the resort. Adults: (1 hour) Resort Nature Walk An easy stroll around Longview Island gaining insight into Native American occupation, the flora and fauna of this remarkable resort property, and a look at some of the ways Disney tries to preserve the natural beauty of the island. Campfires Come prepared for storytelling, sing-alongs, and good family fun. Guests have the opportunity to make s'mores and enjoy quality time with their families by a wonderful marsh-side campfire. All Ages: (1 hour) Goofy Bingo Take a traditional game of BINGO, add a Disney twist, and you have Goofy Bingo!  All Ages: (1 hour) Sweet Goodnights Gather by a roaring fire to listen to some enchanting bedtime stories. We'll have cookies and a variety of bedtime beverages. The kids can come in their PJs and snuggle with you while listening to bedtime stories. Families & All Ages: (30 minutes) Gyotaku The ancient Japanese art form of "fish printing" or "fish rubbing" comes to life as Guests apply non-toxic acrylic paint to a variety of local fish species and print a memorable T-shirt to keep. Barrier Island Beach Combing and Crabbing Enjoy this special excursion to Bloody Point. You'll get off the boat and go in search of shells, arrowheads, sand dollars, and shark teeth. Disney Discovery Club - Just for Kids

Murggie's Marsh Adventure     Ages 3-6 Designed for our younger Guests, this program provides children with an opportunity to discover that salt-marshes are a strange and wonderful place filled with many different kinds of plants and animals. (3 hours)     Ages 7-12 Program focuses on the complex salt marsh ecology of the low country. Participants will have the opportunity to explore different zones of the salt marsh and discover the plants and animals that live in this amazing environment. Crabbing, marsh pictures, marsh zonation and plant/animal adaptations are emphasized. You may get a little muddy exploring the marsh! (3 hours) Beautiful Butterflies Let the little ones learn the lifecycle of the butterfly through an active learning experience. Ages 3-6: (3 hours) Unbirthday Party Offered to two different age groups, this activity provides a fun break for kids in the afternoon. This party is a celebration of the 364 days a year that aren't your birthday! Cupcake decorating, games, and prizes are featured. Ages 3-6 & 7-12: (1 hour) Cel Painting An elementary exposure to the art of animation using Disney Vacation Club Cel Paint Kits. Choosing from a variety of different Disney Vacation Club cels, our Guests will get to paint a treasure to take home. Ages 5 and up: (1 hour) Creative Chefs Learn how to turn ordinary food into such things as a dog house for Shadow. Participants can eat as they go or save some of their treats for later! Hilton Head Island is situated at the southernmost tip of South Carolina, 45 miles north of Savannah, GA, and 90 miles south of Charleston, SC. The island is less than 30 minutes from Interstate 95.

The closest international airport is the Savannah (GA) airport, approximately a 45-minute drive. Another option is the Charleston (SC) airport, a two-hour drive. Limited air service is available into Hilton Head Island Airport, which is approximately 15 minutes from the Resort. Car rentals, limo service, and airport transfers are also available.

From I-95 North/South
Traveling I-95, take Exit 8 -- Hilton Head Island/Bluffton.
Follow signs for Hilton Head Island and Route 278 East.
Cross over the Hilton Head Island bridge and continue straight on Route 278 East BUSINESS (William Hilton Parkway).
After approx. 8 miles (approx. 10 traffic lights after bridge), turn right into Shelter Cove Harbour and follow the road straight back to the harbor.
Veer right and follow the road across the bridge to Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort.

From Savannah International Airport (approx. one hour)
Leaving airport, take Airways Avenue West to I-95 North.
Travel I-95 North approx. 12 miles to South Carolina Exit 8 -- Hilton Head Island/Bluffton.

Turn left/east on 510 to A-1-A (2.5 miles).
Turn right on A-1-A. The Resort is immediately on the left.

From Florida's Turnpike Toll Road Heading South
Leaving Charleston, take Route 17 South.
Follow Route 21 through Beaufort.
Turn right onto Route 170 (at a traffic light).
After approx. 4 miles, turn right onto Route 278 toward Hilton Head Island.
Drive eight miles to the bridge.
Cross over the Hilton Head Island bridge and continue straight on Route 278 East BUSINESS (William Hilton Parkway).
After approx. 8 miles (approx. 10 traffic lights after bridge), turn right into Shelter Cove Harbour and follow the road straight back to the harbor.
Veer right and follow the road across the bridge to Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort.

Take a left out of the airport terminal onto Beach City Road.
Turn left onto Matthews Drive.
