Day 2: City streets & views from the “Top of the Rock”
The images of midtown are how the rest of the world views Manhattan. Its dinosaur exhibit is a crowd-pleaser and the “Journey to the Stars” presentation at the Hayden Planetarium documents the life and death of stars in a fascinating narrated film that you will see today. Day 4: The many faces and stories of New York
The spotlight shines on the history of Lower Manhattan today with a poignant visit to Winter Garden at the World Trade Center Site, immortalized as “Ground Zero” after the attacks of September 11, 2001. Hear stories of that fateful day from one of New York’s finest and bravest and go inside nearby St. Paul’s Chapel where firemen, policemen and volunteers gathered for rest, food and comfort during the rescue efforts. A melting pot of cultures can be found in ethnic neighborhoods throughout the Big Apple; take a fun walking tour in Chinatown and Little Italy, stopping to sample a taste of local life – and bubble tea – along the way. Day 5: Places where dreams and fortunes were made
