Day 1: Arrive Rome
A transfer is included from Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Fiumicino to the Regina Hotel Baglioni, a five-star luxury hotel ideally set on the Via Veneto in the center of Rome. Join us for a welcome cocktail reception and dinner tonight.
Overnight: Regina Hotel Baglioni, Rome, Italy

Day 2: Ancient Pompeii & on to Positano
Travel from Rome to Pompeii this morning, where a guided tour reveals the remains of the ancient city of Pompeii, frozen in time after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Continue on to the Amalfi Coast for a two-night stay in Positano, whose colorful homes are nestled on steep cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean.

Day 3: Amalfi Coast Drive & Ravello
One of Europe’s most spectacular coastlines, the Amalfi Coast rewards with amazing views at every turn. Experience daily life here as you visit Amalfi and Villa Rufolo in cliff-top Ravello, and get a real taste of Italy with lunch at a legendary family-run restaurant favored by locals and celebrities alike.

Day 4: Sorrento and a jet boat to the Isle of Capri
Arrive in Sorrento for a walking tour and time to explore on your own, then travel by jet boat to the Isle of Capri. Upon arrival, you’re whisked away by convertible taxi to one of the most celebrated hotels in Europe – the Grand Hotel Quisisana, set on exclusive Via Camerelle in the heart of Capri, a few steps from the Piazzetta. Spend two nights enjoying the pleasures of a less-crowded island after the last ferry carrying the day-trippers departs.

Day 5: Convertible cars on Capri
Touring today is by private convertible car to Anacapri and beautiful 19th-century Villa San Michele, built atop the ruins of Capri’s ancient Roman palaces and villas. Enjoy an insider’s perspective on contemporary Italian society when you attend a private lecture given by a noted professor. The rest of the day is free on lovely Capri; enjoy dinner à la carte this evening at your historic grand hotel.

Day 6: To Rome via Naples and a high-speed train
Board a jet boat this morning for a trip from Capri to Naples – capital of the Campania region and one of Italy’s most important cities. First-class accommodations aboard a high-speed train whisk you from Naples to Rome for the final two nights of your journey; have lunch at a local restaurant. Join us tonight for our farewell reception and dinner at your hotel on the Via Veneto.

Day 7: The Glories of Rome and after-hours at the Vatican Museums
Explore the “Eternal City” of Rome – once the virtual capital of most of the ancient world – with guided sightseeing that includes a panoramic view of the ruins of the Roman Forum from above, as well as visits to the Colosseum and St. Peter’s Basilica. An afternoon spent as you please in Rome precedes tonight’s Tauck Exclusive – a special after-hours guided tour of the Vatican Museums that takes you inside the Candelabra and Map Galleries, the Tapestries, and the famed Sistine Chapel – without daytime crowds (subject to availability and day of the tour may vary)!

Day 8: Journey Home
Tour ends: Rome. Fly home anytime. A transfer from the Regina Hotel Baglioni is included to Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Fiumicino. You should allow a minimum of 3 hours for flight check-in at the airport.
