Day 1: Arrive Zurich
Welcome to Switzerland! A transfer is included from Zurich Airport to Hotel Schweizerhof Zurich. Join us tonight for a welcome reception and dinner.

Day 2: Zurich / Berne / Interlaken
Enjoy an informative sightseeing tour of Zurich en route to Berne, the capital of Switzerland; enjoy lunch in a 17th-century Gasthof offering views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks. Continue on to Interlaken for a two-night stay at one of Europe’s most celebrated resort hotels, nestled at the foothills of the snow-capped Alps. Dine on your own tonight.
Overnight: Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa, Interlaken, Switzerland

Day 3: Up the Jungfraujoch, Down to Interlaken
Weather permitting, drive to the quintessential Swiss village of Grindelwald for a rail journey through the mountains by cogwheel train to the Jungfraujoch. 11,333 feet up at the top, you’ll visit the Ice Sphinx and the Ice Palace. Descend through verdant meadows to the village of Lauterbrunnen, and return to Interlaken. Enjoy an à la carte dinner at your leisure.

Day 4: Liechtenstein and a welcome in Tyrol
Sparkling lakes, alpine peaks and lush forests abound as you cross the heart of Switzerland en route to Vaduz in tiny Liechtenstein. Arrive at your hotel in Seefeld, Austria, for a two-night stay; have dinner at your hotel.

Day 5: Linderhof Palace and Oberammergau
An excursion to Germany today begins with a tour of Linderhof Palace in Bavaria. King Ludwig II’s opulent royal villa was inspired by Versailles. Then it’s on to Oberammergau, a Bavarian town famous for its historic production of the Passion Play; enjoy time to explore on your own; return to your hotel late this afternoon. Dine on rustic Tyrolean cuisine at the Waldgasthaus Triendlsage, an authentic mountain Hütte.

Day 6: Explore Innsbruck and its vineyards
Explore Innsbruck’s rich Imperial architecture and well-preserved Old Town, before traveling to the Schnapsbrennerei Kuenz for a tour of their orchards and distillery – and a tasting, accompanied by light local fare. Arrive in Lienz for a two-night stay.

Day 7: A Day in the Dolomites
Austria and Italy intertwine today as you weave your way through both countries. Standing like sentinels in the sky, the sheer rock walls of the Dolomites are distinctive landmarks which can be seen for miles. Get set to enjoy panoramic views of these impressive alpine peaks – some of which rise to nearly 11,000 feet – during a ride aboard a cable car (weather permitting). The remainder of the day is free to enjoy as you wish.

Day 8: Grossglockner / Salzburg
Today’s travels along the Grossglockner-Hochalpenstrasse high in the Alps take you on one of the most famous roads in Europe, a Tauck Yellow Roads highlight! As you ascend from the valley floor to over 11,000 feet, green meadows give way to soaring granite walls. Have lunch near Zell am See en route to riverfront Salzburg, where you'll be spending two nights.

Day 9: Sightsee Salzburg
A picturesque city on the Salzach river, Salzburg’s skyline is a symphony of Baroque church towers, cupolas and steeples. A guided walking tour includes a visit to the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Salzburg’s most famous son. Tonight, attend an evening of classical music at Mirabell Palace to enjoy a taste of Mozart’s legacy as celebrated by music festivals the world over; the palace was the residence of the wealthy Archbishop of Salzburg, in whose court the young Mozart was employed.

Day 10: First-class Rail to Vienna
Travel first class by train from Salzburg to Vienna, Austria’s capital and one of Europe’s most beautiful cities; upon arrival, visit a Viennese café for coffee and cake. Discover the heart of old Imperial Vienna on a walking tour concluding at your landmark hotel, Hotel Imperial, Vienna. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore this city of noble palaces, broad avenues, lovely parks and inspiring architecture as you please.

Day 11: Exploring Imperial Vienna
Vienna was capital of the Habsburg Empire for centuries; see the Ringstrasse and some of the city’s magnificent Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture on a city tour. Visit Stift Klosterneuburg, just north of Vienna, for a "Sacred tour" and a wine tasting of the abbey's wines; this remarkable monastery complex on the banks of the Danube has roots dating back to the 12th century. Spend the rest of the day exploring more of romantic Vienna at your leisure, pursuing what interests you most. Join us tonight for a farewell reception and dinner.

Day 12: Journey Home
Tour Ends: Vienna. Fly home anytime. A transfer is included from Hotel Imperial to Vienna International Airport. You should allow a minimum of 3 hours for flight check-in at the airport.
