Day 3: VIENNA SIGHTSEEING
A sightseeing highlight this morning is a guided visit to the Schonbrunn Palace and gardens. Sightseeing continues past St Charles’ Church and tours the ‘ring’ seeing the Opera House, the Hofburg Imperial Residence and Parliament Building. The afternoon is at leisure.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4: VIENNA - MARIBOR - ZAGREB
Head through Styria’s forested mountains and over the Slovenian border to the university town of Maribor. Follow the Drava River to Croatia and its capital, Zagreb. Enjoy a guided tour of the lower town and the medieval Upper Town.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 5: ZAGREB - PLITVICE NATIONAL PARK
After a leisurely morning depart for the UNESCO listed Plitvice Lakes National Park.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 6: PLITVICE NATIONAL PARK - SPLIT
Tour the Plitvice Lakes, a scenic wonderland of 16 lakes flanked by thundering waterfalls and primeval forest. Head down the coast to Trogir renowned for its cathedral and Renaissance Cipiko Palace. Continue to historic Split.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 7: SPLIT - DUBROVNIK
A local guide leads you through the labyrinth of streets within the former palace of Emperor Diocletain. See the Golden Gate, St. Duje’s and visit the basement rooms thought to have housed his slaves. Now along the sparkling coast to Dubrovnik where there are a selection of restaurants for dinner tonight.(Buffet Breakfast / Dine Around)
Day 8: Day 9 - DUBROVNIK AT LEISURE
Explore the stone-paved streets inside the 16th century bastions with your guide. See Onofrio’s fountain and the Rector’s Palace, the city walls, as well as the Franciscan and Dominican monasteries. The remainder of the stay is at leisure.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 10: DUBROVNIK - KOTOR - TIRANA
Just over the border visit the old town of Kotor, perched beside its fjord. Continue through Montenegro to Albania and stop in Shkodra to see the Rozafa Castle, Mesi Bridge and Leaden Mosque. Continue to the Albanian capital of Tirana.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 11: TIRANA - OHRID
After a guided tour of Tirana head for the Albanian border and cross into Macedonia. Stay in the pretty lake side resort of Ohrid. A local expert shows you the narrow cobblestone streets of Old Town, lined with restaurants and cafes – perfect for a summer evening stroll.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 12: OHRID - SKOPJE - SOFIA
First stop is the ultra modern capital of Skopje. See the main square, the mosques and old Turkish buildings then cross the north of the country to the border, and on to Sofia.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 13: SOFIA SIGHTSEEING
Sightseeing takes in the St Sofia Church across the square from the golden domed St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the archaeological complex, dominated by St George’s Church. Explore on your own or perhaps take an optional excursion to the Rila Monastery?(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 14: SOFIA - ISTANBUL
Head east, joining the road to Turkey taken by the Romans, the Crusaders and others over the centuries. Cross the border to reach exotic Istanbul.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 15: ISTANBUL - GALLIPOLI - CANAKKALE
Drive along the shores of the Sea of Marmara to the Gallipoli peninsula where you visit Anzac Cove and Lone Pine Cemetery. From Eceabat, a short sea crossing takes you from one continent to another as you leave Europe for Asia.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 16: KANAKKALE - TROY - IZMIR
Drive to Troy, where a huge replica of the Trojan Horse stands beside the city’s ancient walls. Continue to Pergamon to visit the Asklepion, one of the most famous shrines in the ancient world. Carry on to Izmir.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 17: IZMIR - EPHESUS - KUSADASI
Visit the archeological museum at Selcuk where many of the excavated artefacts of Ephesus are displayed, and visit the House of the Virgin Mary, situated above the Ephesus ruins. Finally, tour Ephesus itself, one of the world’s finest archeological sites. Stay in the coastal town of Kusadasi.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 18: KUSADASI - PAMUKKALE
Follow the Maeander River valley to Pamukkale, where you visit the ruins of ancient Hierapolis and the fairyland terraces and see the glistening pools and cascades in scallop-shell basins. The rest of the day is yours to relax.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 19: PAMUKKALE - KONYA - CAPPADOCIA
Head to Konya, the old capital of the Anatolian Seljuk Empire and home to the mystic Whirling Dervish sect. Visit the Mevlana Tekke, a museum and national monument, with its beautiful fluted turquoise dome. See the Karatay Medrese and Ince Minaret before driving across fertile plains to your hotel.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 20: CAPPADOCIA - GOREME EXCURSION
Enjoy an excursion to Goreme, a region of volcanic landscapes and rock-hewn churches decorated with ancient wall paintings. Continue to the Zelve Valley and tour the underground city Kaymakli, and see the cone of Uchisar. Day 21: CAPPADOCIA - ANKARA
Visit Agzikarahan, one of the best-preserved Seljuk caravanserais in Anatolia. Continue on to Ankara to visit the Hittite Museum and Anit Kabir, the mausoleum of Ataturk, Turkey’s greatest modern leader.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 22: ANKARA - ISTANBUL

Day 23: ISTANBUL SIGHTSEEING
