Vacation Overview
On this marvelous vacation through Italy, not only will you see the main Italian cities—Rome, Venice, Florence, Milan, and Assisi—you’ll also have an opportunity to enjoy some of the smaller towns and scenic attractions. On this tour—our most popular vacation—you’ll see the must-see sights in the cities, such as the Vatican Museums in Rome, Michelangelo’s David in Florence, St. Mark’s Square and Basilica in Venice, the Leaning Tower in Pisa, Juliet’s balcony in Verona, and much more. A tour highlight is Pompeii, which was completely buried during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Imagine what life was like 2,000 years ago! This preserved town gives you an amazingly detailed look into life at the peak of the Roman Empire. Admire the paintings still on the walls, and look for the early fast-food restaurants beloved by ancient Romans. Spend time in Lake Maggiore, Italy’s second-largest lake and one of Italy’s most beautiful areas. Enjoy the picturesque lakefront, colorful flowerbeds, shops, cafés, and restaurants. You’ll also have an opportunity to relax in the laid-back town of Sorrento. Explore the cobblestone streets lined with shops and restaurants, and be sure to sample limoncello, the sweet drink made from the enormous lemons that come directly from the town’s numerous lemon trees. Delight in the amazing views, watch the sunset dip into the sea, and see Mount Vesuvius across the bay. You’ll also have time in beautiful Capri, where celebrities go to “get away from it all.” From the relaxing towns of Sorrento and Lake Maggiore to the faster-paced cities, this tour offers it all. You’re sure to have plenty of stories and photos to share with friends and family back home.

It pays to travel more often! Book two Globus vacations traveling in the same year and receive 5% off the land portion of your second tour. And if you take three tours, you save 5% on each of your next two.
Book Early & Save

With Globus, planning ahead pays off. Book your 2012 Globus vacation and pay in full 9 months or more prior to your departure and save 10% off the land-only portion of your tour.
Triple Room Reduction

You can also save when three people travel together and share accommodations. Refer to the itinerary pages for the specific reduction per tour.
Big Savings for Small Groups

Traveling with family and friends has always been rewarding, and now the rewards can really pile up. Small groups of 5, 6, or 7 can save 5% per person off the land-only portion of Globus vacations.
And don't forget: in groups of 8 to 15, one person travels at half-price; in a group of 16+, one person travels free. So, bring others along and multiply the fun—and the savings!
Avoid the Single Room Supplement

We do not take reservations on a “share” basis because we have found that strangers rarely enjoy sharing a room for the duration of their vacation. Avoid the single room supplement by traveling with a friend. It’s less expensive and much more fun!

Ray & Rose rated this tour a 5 on 11/11/2011 11:55:43 AM and says:
"This tour was outstanding! Our tour guide (Nicolas) was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable about all the areas we visited. Providing wonderful guidance on places of interest and eaters for you free time. The accommodations were top notch with locations in the center of everything you would want to see in each of the stops. The locations made walking or other means of transportation very easy. Side trips took us to places we would not have thought to go on our own if it were not offered to us, even seasoned travelers seemed to be impressed with new sights and experiences."
