Meals BLD Day 3. The place where life began Head for Tarangire National Park where you’ll see the Maasai people and the second largest concentration of big game in the world. According to Maasai legend, Tarangire is the place where life began. Embark on an afternoon game drive in the African savannah to see elephants cooling off in a watering hole and big cats lounging in the shade under baobab trees. After dinner at your tented camp you’ll meet members of the local Maasai tribe, who share some of their tribal customs – and teach their dances! Meals BLD Day 4. Learning from the Maasai Start the day with a morning game drive in Tarangire, then learn what it takes to make colorful beadwork – plus how to throw a spear and shoot a bow and arrow – from members of a local Maasai tribe. This evening, gaze at vistas of Tarangire from “The Viewpoint,” dig into a barbecue dinner and take Swahili lessons around the campfire! Meals BLD Day 5. A village school and a birder’s paradise En route to Lake Manyara for wildlife viewing, meet and spend time with the students and teachers of a new primary school that Tauck helps support.
