Your Tour Itinerary Includes
This program contains some active elements, and a minimum level of fitness is required.
Days 1-2
Depart on an overnight flight to Australia, crossing the International Date Line and "losing" a day, regained on your homebound trip.
Day 3
On arrival, your room is available for immediate occupancy, and you are free to relax for the remainder of the morning. This afternoon, enjoy a private cruise of Sydney Harbour while afternoon tea is served.

Day 4
Depart by ferry for a privately guided visit to Taronga Zoo. Then head to famous Bondi Beach to meet a real Aussie lifesaver and learn to ride the waves during a surfing lesson. Tonight, attend a welcome dinner with your fellow travellers.

Day 5
DESIGN YOUR DAY options fill the morning: privately tour the Sydney Opera House, embark on an exhilarating jet boat ride on the harbor or soar to new heights atop Sky Tower.
Board an afternoon flight to Adelaide, founded in 1836 and known as the "city of churches" as well as for its festivals, wines, cuisines and Mediterranean climate. On arrival, explore Adelaide with an orientation tour. Dine this evening at your choice of one of A&K's recommended restaurants.

Day 6
Fly to Kangaroo Island, renowned as nature's wonderland and brimming with diverse, abundant wildlife untouched by modern development. Explore by four-wheel-drive vehicle, walk among the seals and enjoy a barbecue lunch.
Today, you may join a project to assist in the rehabilitation of a region devastated by a bushfire and protect the habitat of the glossy black cockatoo.
Later, board your return flight to Adelaide.

Day 7
Board a flight to Alice Springs - located in "the Red Centre" - the classic Australian Outback. This afternoon's sightseeing excursion includes an ATV adventure on a private cattle station which takes you over bush tracks, dry riverbeds and close to mountain ranges. Tonight, attend an Aussie-style barbecue in a natural bush setting under the stars.

Day 8
Visit the School of the Air, a program of radio instruction that brought home schooling to isolated children living in the Outback. Board a flight to Uluru (also known as Ayers Rock) for an afternoon drive to the rock formations of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Then discover the significance of the desert animals to the local Anangu people, as well as their creation stories, during a private viewing of Predators of the Desert.

Day 9
Watch the sun rise over Uluru and take part in a walk along its base, viewing hallowed sites and paintings of ancient Aboriginal tribal myths. Later, fly to Cairns and transfer to your luxurious resort in the seaside town of Port Douglas.

Day 10
Today's excursion takes you to the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. Cruise to three different reef sites - all known for their water clarity and coral formations and ideal for swimming and snorkeling - within the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Day 11
This morning, travel to Cooya Beach and walk with your private Aboriginal guide to learn about their culture in this part of Australia. This evening, bid a fond "g'day" to Australia at a very special farewell dinner at Sea Temple.

Day 12
Travel by the Kuranda skyrail - the world's longest cableway - for a beautiful rainforest experience, gliding just meters above the rainforest canopy. Enjoy some free time in the quaint village of Kuranda, located at the top of the mountain, before continuing to Sydney for an evening at leisure.

Take advantage of some time left for last-minute shopping before your departure flight takes you back across the International Dateline toward home.
