Windstar Cruises 2013 & 2014

For those that have sailed Windstar before, you will see some differences in 2013.  The Wind Star's interior was completely redone to make the ship look and feel more stylish.  The restaurant has a new look and menu.  Of course the cabins were also enhanced.  The Windsurf will be complete in December of this year and the Wind Spirit by December 22nd.

There's something about the sea that makes the senses shift into overdrive.  Colors are more intense.  Flavors are amplified.  Each new aroma is more captivating than the last.  Which reminds you...is that the scent of freshly baked cinnamon rolls coming from the Verandah?  Lunch and dinner are a celebration of seasonal ingredients and regional specialties influenced by the places you visit.  Visit the Wind Surf's alternative restaurant or eat in the regular dining area.  It is all delicious.  Tempting menus are available on all ship, as well as alfresco dining at Candles. Wine lovers will enjoy the new Yachtsmen Discovery wine program.  You dine with whoever you wish - with no pretense, jacket or tie.

Time for bed? Time to retreat to your elegant stateroom where the romance of sailing merges with the very latest in modern amenities.  Let the room fill with music from your nearby iPod nano while you unpack.  So nice having all this space for your things.  You can settle in and watch a DVD on the flat-screen TV. Or slip between crisp cotton sheets and enjoy the timeless comfort of being gently rocked to sleep.

In the morning, thick, thirsty towels and sumptuous L'Occitane en Provence products await in the bathroom.  Should you go upstairs and dine on deck - or slip on your comfy robe and have breakfast in bed? As you gaze out on the endless expanse of sea from the comfort or your bed, it occurs to you.  Of all the islands you're about to explore, this may well be your favorite.

Although it's not easy to get lost on Windstar ships, it is well worth a try.  The cozy library is the perfect place to start.  Take a welcome sun break while looking through the DVD collection and new travel guides.  While you are there, you can email your friends about the amazing things they're missing back on dry land.

Like the best explorations, it pays to dig deep.  The Marina Deck below is full of hidden treasures, for the new aquatic toys on the Waters Sports Platform to the gleaming machines in the fitness room.  You can wander over to see what's new in the Signature Shop and chat with the captain up on the Bridge.  Or maybe you're content to stay right in your favorite deck chair and enjoy the simple pleasures of getting lost in your thoughts.
